Trimm    Know what it is like with one having a mean streak.

You know there is always one in the bunch.   
All 4 of these kids are good kids,but the one that is 8 thinks he knows everything.He told hubby he didn't have to mind him.  I'm just gonna sit back and watch this.   
You know his daughter doesn't always keep them in check.He even thought he was gonna take a nap...wrong.You picked them up and you're gonna stay up with them.   

About this Billings case.Is it gonna be hard to get up to speed on the info?
What little I read so far makes me think there could be a family member involved.

I don't know what I really think about the Billings murder. But no matter what any of them did, I don't think it warranted coming into the home and killing both of them.  Something's hinky in P'cola. JMO

Hiya Monkeys and a extra Hiya to miss Mae...i've been all over the place today....Trimm the chicken an dumplins were awesome!      so someone explain what is wrong with the health-care bill...i tried to read it and went cross-eyed...
i need the truth 'cause if you come from my end of things, the idea that we can all go to the doctor when we're sick (and not have to shell out a couple $100 to do so) sounds good to me.....,but i know there are much wiser monkey's than i so please explain, because i am truly lost with all this.

Mamacrazy, I can post some videos that will help you see why we don't need this crazy arse bill. I can give you stories of family that live in England with this kind of care or I can just tell the JSM version of it. None of them are pretty.

First things first, the idea of "free" healthcare will never be "free". Someone, (you, me or Joe Blow) down the street will pay for it. There is "free healthcare now, it is called Medicare/Medicaid. If you fall below a very low level of income you can get it. BUT someone has to pay for it, i.e. taxpayers (which you are one of them).

Secondly, if you don't qualify for Medicare/Medicaid, you will NEVER be turned away by an ER facility for care.

If say you were really bad and couldn't afford the bill at a "not for profit" hospital, they would more than likely look at your income, bills, etc and write off the cost of your care.

Now I am going to try and explain the president/congress's plan to you, hope it makes sense..

Say you just need to go to the doctor for a cold and have the NHS, you would take a number and maybe be seen in say about 12 hours or longer.

If you have a knot in your stomach, it may take six months to get a CT scan to tell you that you have cancer, by that time there is nothing they can do for you. You won't get treatments because you are going to die.  Since you are going to "die" they will not treat you, just leave you with some pain meds and say see ya later sister, you are gone because there is nothing we can do, because the treatment will cost too much money.

It is called healthcare rationing and it hasn't worked in the UK and it hasn't worked in Canada.

i just assumed everyone would pay X$ a month and then we could all go to the doctor when we needed to....the problem lies with people like me who need to go to the dr., don't have the money at the time (i do but i know many who have no savings) but aren't willing to go to the er....and to be truthful and i am posting FACT the last time i went to the er i had slipped at work and broke my tail-bone...my manager drives me to the hospital, i walk in a tell them i need an x-ray, i slipped at work and think my tail-bone is broken...so they take my temp and blood pressure in a little side room and then ask me to have a seat (i choose to stand lol) until they call for me...so they call, i strip, get x-rayed, and then wait in a room for a dr to tell me yes, it is a broken tail-bone, heres a scrip for 30 hydro-codone and make sure you go to the window before you leave...so i go to the window and the lady says they expect payment for my visit
i then explain that i have no money and she tells me there is an atm down the hall (i chit you not) i again try to explain that this had happened at work, my purse was Still At work, and all i had was $12 in my waitress apron..she gets this look and says, oh, well than take this to your job and have them fill it out and fax it back in...

It will be slow going from here.Hubby had to pick up the two youngest grandsons to watch for a couple of days.One of them is something else.He's gotta little mean streak.I have to be vigilant over the pups.Thank the Lord the other one is good.   
If the 2 older ones call to come,I will be moving in with one of you for a few days.

Don't get me wrong, I think everyone should have some sort of treatment if they are injured or sick. But if we "socialize" medicine it lets the goverment say who can or cannot be treated. THAT is my biggest problem with it.

They are not telling you there is help out there. They are making people scared, so that we become dependent on the goverment for healthcare, then we become dependent for jobs, for food, for everything.

Sorry for being a downer, but when you let someone run your life, they have total CONTROL, be it the goverment or your dog or your husband.

My motto is never loose control, unless it is for sad puppy dog eyes.

Mama, with your tail bone accident, that would be covered under worker's compensation, you employer either has w/c insurance or not. If not, your employer will have to pay out of his pocket, but being a place of employment where accident's happen, they should have W/C insurance.

Don't get me wrong, I think everyone should have some sort of treatment if they are injured or sick. But if we "socialize" medicine it lets the goverment say who can or cannot be treated. THAT is my biggest problem with it.

They are not telling you there is help out there. They are making people scared, so that we become dependent on the goverment for healthcare, then we become dependent for jobs, for food, for everything.

oh no, i agree about to gov thing and worker-comp did pay.  the videos shed a lot of light for me...all this time i assumed it was like a big group health plan where we (well anyone with a job) would pay $200 a month and it would be business as usual....

I'm glad the videos helped you understand Mama. But one thing I did hear today is if you choose not to buy health insurance you could be fined $2500. Not sure if that is true, because I am very tired and just like our president, I haven't read the bill. I do know they will tax me on the premiums my employer pays for my health insurance. So not only will I have Medicare/SS tax taken out of my check, but I will also have my insurance taxed too AS will my employer, so it is kind of a double tax in a way.

I know I have probably pizzed off a lot of people with my posts on the healthcare issue, there are things that could be changed, but not the overhaul and rationing of healthcare in this country.

One more thing JSM has to say about this issue, think about your Gran or Grandad or yourself for that matter. If you don't fit the limits and/or requirements for treatment that will help you/them, you/them will die.

Sorry to be morbid, but that is what the NHS does in England.
