I don't recall a time when Ryan O'Neal wasn't a scumbag. But he now has hit an all time low hitting on Tatum

Maybe someone can straighten me out. This cash for clunkers. It is very successfull, but pushing aside all the BS, basically the tax payers are helping people we don't even know buy a new car? Now I don't have a clunker, but when we are ready to trade it in for a new car, are we going to get help buying a new car

& you will not get help NRCG, sorry.  When this first came out I thought, hmmmm, I could really use a better car & $4500.00 off plus all the dealers here were matching that so $9000.00 off?  I must be dreaming right?  So I went to cars.gov and looked up all the red tape bs that had to go along with it.  I have a 2001 auto, I don't drive very much so it has 75K miles it gets OK mileage 20mpg did not qualify? It's a bunch of crap.  Just a way for O & the internet inventor to get the old gas guzzlers off the road.  And what if you can't get a loan, or afford a NEW car?  What's wrong with buying a slightly used car?  Nope, those don't qualify.  I don't get it.  Rant over.

The incentive to buy a new car by giving $4,500 toward the purchase is ridiculous. A new car
depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. A slightly used automobile is a much better value, especially if it has a track record for dependable service past the 100,000 mile mark. My
son drove his Toyota pick-up for 385,000 miles with only minor repairs. I like to drive my car for as long as I get dependable service. I put the equivalent of a monthly car payment aside so that when I am ready to trade I pay cash. We are being deceived about this program IMO.
It has nothing to do with pollution. It is to increase sales of NEW automobiles to make it appear that the government bail out of the auto industry is successful. Buying a used car would not perpetuate this allusion.

What is Mr. NRCG doing to celebrate Mr. President's birthday?

I'm sure he will sit down with his glass of white wine and watch Keith Olberman and the two of them can celebrate together

That makes sense, and frankly I'm not too happy paying for Joe Blow's new car.

Completely gaudy and undignified.

Next think you know his face will be on toilet seat covers. Who knows? They may already be available.

 Monkey Devil! Monkey Devil!

I had to take a nap, so I have been woken twice already today with the thunder and lightning. I don't know if I need more coffee or just go back to bed again. The day is shot already, now.

I am already grouchy, and almost afraid to look on Caylee's thread, but I will go look.

We had a 13 year old Saturn and for some reason our gas mileage was not good.  We just bought a 2009 Outlander.  Nope, we don't qualify for anything because Saturns are supposed to have good mileage.  Oh well!  We get over 8 miles per gallon more with the SUV.

Fanny Mae and ya'll...Here is a case of such terrible, terrible police investigation and reporting I can hardly even comprehend it.

http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=5855.msg900132#msg900132

This is a case of a little 10 year old girl and the investigator made the decision she was electrocuted and it was an accident even before the autopsy was complete, and despite the fact she had a CUT THROAT and she had recent vaginal penetration etc. etc. OMG!!

Mad and grouchy don't even remotely cover how I'm feeling right now. My mom and dad bought their home 55 years ago. Out our backyard is a sand dune and when you go over the sand dune there is the beach and Lake Michigan. The lake has receded quite a bit, and the city was planning on building condos there. All the houses on that block will have their view of the lake and pier blocked. Now they are talking about that imminent domain thing where they buy up your houses, plow the houses down, and then build condos there. The town I'm from is an old fishing village, and there was a lot of manufacturing, because most of the manufacturing has left the powers that be want to make the town into a tourist town. Many rich people from the Chicago area come up and buy houses around there. The town is a town that you have to pass through on your way up to Door County, which many people around the country go to vacation, it is lovely up there. I am physically sick to think that if this happens there goes the home, the home that I had planned to live in to keep it in the family. My dad doesn't want to keep it up much longer and was thinking of going into an apartment to make things easier on him, I wanted to buy it from him.  I'm so hoping the other people on the block will fight this insanity tooth and nail. Sorry for this long rant, I'm just really, really mad. Thank God my grandparents and mom are gone, they would be so very upset with this. I don't mean I'm glad my mom and grandparents are gone, you know what I mean.
