Maybe someone can straighten me out. This cash for clunkers. It is very successfull, but pushing aside all the BS, basically the tax payers are helping people we don't even know buy a new car? Now I don't have a clunker, but when we are ready to trade it in for a new car, are we going to get help buying a new car
We had a 13 year old Saturn and for some reason our gas mileage was not good.  We just bought a 2009 Outlander.  Nope, we don't qualify for anything because Saturns are supposed to have good mileage.  Oh well!  We get over 8 miles per gallon more with the SUV.
My dad loves his Saturn, and the gas mileage is great. None of this makes sense.

Fanny Mae and ya'll...Here is a case of such terrible, terrible police investigation and reporting I can hardly even comprehend it.

http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=5855.msg900132#msg900132

This is a case of a little 10 year old girl and the investigator made the decision she was electrocuted and it was an accident even before the autopsy was complete, and despite the fact she had a CUT THROAT and she had recent vaginal penetration etc. etc. OMG!!
WTH, I can't comprehend this and so many other things, everything just makes no sense. Poor little girl  an angelic monkey

Mad and grouchy don't even remotely cover how I'm feeling right now. My mom and dad bought their home 55 years ago. Out our backyard is a sand dune and when you go over the sand dune there is the beach and Lake Michigan. The lake has receded quite a bit, and the city was planning on building condos there. All the houses on that block will have their view of the lake and pier blocked. Now they are talking about that imminent domain thing where they buy up your houses, plow the houses down, and then build condos there. The town I'm from is an old fishing village, and there was a lot of manufacturing, because most of the manufacturing has left the powers that be want to make the town into a tourist town. Many rich people from the Chicago area come up and buy houses around there. The town is a town that you have to pass through on your way up to Door County, which many people around the country go to vacation, it is lovely up there. I am physically sick to think that if this happens there goes the home, the home that I had planned to live in to keep it in the family. My dad doesn't want to keep it up much longer and was thinking of going into an apartment to make things easier on him, I wanted to buy it from him.  I'm so hoping the other people on the block will fight this insanity tooth and nail. Sorry for this long rant, I'm just really, really mad. Thank God my grandparents and mom are gone, they would be so very upset with this. I don't mean I'm glad my mom and grandparents are gone, you know what I mean.

I've rode my motorcycle to Door County before - beautiful country.  So sad to hear about the stinkin condos - scumbag yuppies.

Well, if this thing passes, I guess I'll be one of their "steady sources of revenue" they're lusting after.  It's two miles just to get from my house to the nearest highway.

We will be a big steady source of revenue also, since my husband has a ways to go to work, does it count that he car pools

So far I have stepped on a baby copper head snake,Digger has been stung by a wasp, and I got 3/4 of the yard done.
Hubby volunteered to baby sit the two youngest grand kids....one of which does not like to mind. Can this day get any better?
The answer is NO because I am out of beer of cold beer.
Be back in a little while to barricade my self in somewhere.

I know what you are saying about being relieved that your grandparents and Mom don't have to go through this. I have thought that often after what happened to the beautiful neighborhood where my mama and daddy were finally able to buy their first home after they got us three girls raised. We thought the same thing, that we would be able to live there after they were gone. It tuned into as bad as any inner city ghetto, except it was in a beautiful part of town. They would have both been heartbroken and mortified. I know with the political situation and the way things are now on the skids, they would both be terrified. So I understand.
