White House Move to Collect 'Fishy' Info May Be Illegal, Critics Say
The White House has been under fire since posting a blog on Tuesday that asks supporters to e-mail any "fishy" information seen on the Web or received electronically.

The White House strategy of turning supporters into snitches when they see "fishy" information about the health care debate may run afoul of the law, legal experts say.

"The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it," Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.

"There's also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can't try to rewrite history by pretending it didn't receive anything," he said.

"If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute."
Napolitano was referring to the Privacy Act of 1974, which was passed after the Nixon administration used federal agencies to illegally investigate individuals for political purposes. Enacted after Richard Nixon's resignation in the Watergate scandal, the statute generally prohibits any federal agency from maintaining records on individuals exercising their right to free speech.

NRCG ~ I too suffer from clinical depression & also panic attacks & anxiety.  If you ever need a shoulder email me at xxxxxxxx.  I completely understand about the meds & the bitterness.
And you have no idea what that means to me, thanks. It's awful isn't it?
Some days are bad and some are good.  I hate to be prisoner to the meds, that's the problem I have.  I don't want to take them and that is definitely not good.  The last few years have been really good, before that not so.  That's why I am "lovinlife".

Dad Accused in Father's Day Beating Allegedly Strangled Son While Fiancee Watched

Friday, August 07, 2009

A Massachusetts dad accused of viciously beating his 7-year-old son on Father's Day choked the boy, hit him with a belt and sat on him — all while his fiancee watched, according to newly released court documents.

Leslie Schuler, 36, also shoved Nathaniel Turner into a wall and struck him in the stomach in the June 21 attack that led to the boy's death a few days later, the documents say.

Schuler, of Worcester, is charged with murder and several accounts of battery. He is being held without bail.

The records allege that much of the abuse took place while Schuler's fiancee, Tiffany Hyman, looked on but made no attempt to stop it.

Nathaniel had moved from Alabama to live with his father, investigators say.

The documents were released Thursday at the request of The Telegram & Gazette newspaper, following a six-week impoundment requested by the prosecution

I swear the world is just going completely insane, just don't know what to think about any of these horrible crimes anymore. Is it drugs, alcohol, evilness, mental disorders, a combination?

I had a hard time after 9/11 for a long time. It is terrible to have those heartpounding shakey moments. Don't you or NOROSE feel bad for taking meds. It isn't your fault or anything either one of you have done to cause it. You are doing what you have to do, just like a person with diabetes has to take meds. It is what it is.

Good Morning.  an angelic monkey

I am in a sucky mood, you I hope you will all bear with me.

When I worked for the Police Department, we accumulated what were called SA days, when we worked on holidays for a regular shift. Not only did we get paid overtime for the holiday, but we also got a day off in some future time that was called an SA day. Most of the time we could take one for whatever reason. Yesterday, I took a SA day for the RA. It was jokingly called that for often the reason was that things were not going so well at work, so one was taking off some time because of having a "red azz, or chapped azz" about an event at work. Usually it was because of a co-worker/s.

I did not appreciate being "double teamed" night before last after saying goodnight on Caylee's thread. I wasn't really gone. I was expecting it. Thus, the SA day.

So if I am not my usual jovial self, I hope you will all understand. I will do my best though.

Fanny -  I don't know what "double teamed" means but I'm glad you're back.     an angelic monkey
I'm glad you're not nekkid anymore, too.   LOL.
Don't worry.   Sometimes I feel totally ignored on certain threads but I still come back.    Monkey Devil!

OMG - 9-11 is when my bad panic attacks started.   I still have two bridges that I can't drive over to this day.

I don't take medication.   I control mine with diet, eliminated all caffeine, and try to focus on positive.   Focusing on the positive is getting harder to do though.

It is what it is, and I don't mind talking about it, because many people suffer from clinical depression, and one shouldn't feel embarrassed or ashamed by it, but many people are.

Fanny, you are the weather lady, all of a sudden a huge gust of wind came through, knocked down my little table and umbrella set upstairs, and my yard is now covered with pine needles, after I cleaned it all up this morning. Why would that happen? Everything was calm and then a strong gust, now there is a slight breeze? I got to go clean again in the yard
