VAN NUYS, Calif., July 20 (UPI) -- The first wife of imprisoned music producer Phil Spector has been reported missing from her Van Nuys, Calif., home, police said Monday.

Annette Merar, 65, was reported missing Friday, the Los Angeles Police Department told the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise.

Merar was described as a diabetic, who is 5 feet 2 inches tall and 160 pounds.

Her family told police she may appear confused, the newspaper said.

Spector is currently serving a sentence of 19 years to life in prison for a second-degree murder conviction in the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson at his home. Spector married his fourth wife, Rachelle Short, in 2006.

VAN NUYS -- Police are searching for the ex-wife of convicted music producer Phil Spector.

Annette Merar, 65, was reported missing from her Van Nuys home Friday, according to Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Merar is 5 feet 2 inches and 160 pounds and is diabetic, according to family members who say the missing woman may exhibit "possible confusion."

In a 2004 message on the Fairfax High School class of 1961 Web site, Merar said she had been living in Valley Glen near Van Nuys and that she was a retired teacher with a son named Damien. http://www.fairfaxclassof61.com/m/annette_merar/

After graduating from Fairfax High, which Spector also attended, Merar went into the music business and became the front singer for "Spector's Three." She married Spector in February 1963 and he named a record company after her, Annette Records.

The marriage ended when Spector began seeing Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett, one of the Ronettes. The two were married in 1968 and divorced six years later.

Wow..it seems unreal that no one has seen this woman.  If she was confused you would think by now someone would have crossed her path and gotten her help since she is diabetic.

Every now and again I check on her status. I still find tons of missing reports/news/forums and none that say she has been located.
