And so they still have the same names when married, but married in
a different place than stated to the baptist people.
Maybe because of their age difference they felt indifferent, it
was the 60's ya know!

I'm thinking it is real now, but no wonder they lied -- in Reno -- a Baptist -- just confirms they lie a lot about a lot.

Still so much going on with my sister -- my hopes are high for her recovery, thought it will take a long time.  Thanks for asking.

That is or was a place people would go to
elope back in the days, then wasn't it sister?
A place for a fun time and secret marriage?

Badge of honor or dishonor, depending on how you looked at it back then.  So Connie's dad didn't marry them after all.  I'm checking on the date "they" say.

Yes, this might give us more to work on, I hope
for their sakes they can be eliminated from all of this...
But as the record of above shows, both the Harris and
Lawless family lied to their own people.

I could be wrong, but a marriage license in one state is not valid in another state.  Each state has their own laws, even in the 60s.
sorry, I got to say good night -- really good, good job!!

snipped from one of our other threads:
1960 - Lane was saved in Wenatchee WA in April; Lane was baptized by AA Harris in East Wenatchee WA on July 9; married Connie same day in Modesto CA, married by her father AA Harris

Whoa...There you go...
I'm sorry I missed this post earlier!!!!  It's important I think!
Because unless they flew in a plane...
There is NO WAY ...

I would love for that reporter to walk up to the Mrs. and ask her how her wedding in Reno was and does she have pictures in the family album.  Ain't I mean!!!!

That's not mean Sister, it serves a purpose for those who wish to join
a congregation in truth, and that background checks can prove beneficial
in your choices through faith. Thank you for snipping that post I was trying
to remember the exact date  that had be mentioned of their marriage~~

~Love~

Love, do you have the e-mail address of that reporter or the Tracy Press.  I would e-mail that marriage license article to them.  It's really bugging me.

Wow! Great work! I would email Mike Martinez at the San Jaoquin harold as well as Jennifer Wadsworth at the Tracy Press.

Now why would they lie? I suppose the father didn't approve her relationship or maybe she was PG? Isn't it true, back then either a girl was sent away to have the baby or she ran away to get married, but still left the area to have the baby in an effort to cover the time frame. maybe this is why there are no birth records in California assuming of course there still is not a birth record for their children...

Tracygirl,
Usually the girl was sent to a home for unwed mothers.  In this case, with Clifford Lane Lawless supposedly a long time friend of the family, I doubt that happened.  I think it does explain why no birth record can be found of their kids nor a marriage license in California.  Wonder if Neveda has a birth record, considering they have a marriage license record?

There is story of a young girl who got pg at the age of 16. She was sent away to have the baby who was given up or adoption but when she returned home she was force to marry another man the family approved of so too avoid any further "embarrassment". I am telling this because, well I am not sure. It is just what came to mind.
