where is the little girl in all of this? does this mother have custody of her and if so, how does she keep the bf away from her?  who is her father? sorry if this has been asked/answered on here...it is hard keeping up at times...

Rosie....I am thinking that it was the bf ....but is she covering for him? I suspect that the LE know already and are just putting their case together nice and tight before doing the arrest...
it was said on one of the talk show that the BF entering in and out of the psych facility, that he may be trying to build a defense of mental illness...could be...

I read that also, but I also was reading some info from a native Idahoian that it is almost impossible in the state for a insanity defense.

The family has set up a website for the community to learn more about Robert. On his Myspace page they wrote: "Robert loved to meet new people and make new friends. He was so outgoing that we had to make new rules just for him. One of his rules was that he had to ask before he hugged someone. He loved life and people so much that he would run up to strangers and give them hugs."

They are: Robert, 8, son of Charles Manwill; RayLynn Scott Ames, 2, daughter of Russell Ames; and Aidan James Ehrlick, 1, son of Daniel Ehrlick Jr. She was married to one of the men, Manwill. Two of the three children, Robert and RayLynn, live with their fathers.

i was just thinking that (we think a lit nrcg!)...i believe the mother is not directly involved as far as the actual murder. but i think we could see some charges against her before all of this is said and done.  i do believe the mother knows what happened or has a pretty good idea of what happened.

i have been trying hard to apply ockham's razor to this case and make my theory as to what happened to robert as simple as possible, but it's been hard.  i personally think that the bf killed robert shortly after he arrived home from playing on the swings around 7 30 pm.  I do not believe this was premeditated. I think something happened and the bf snapped.  i think once the bf realized what he did, he panicked and called his brother, who had that man's suv.  he told his brother he needed him to come help him move roberts body.  during the time between when he first called his brother and his brother arrived, i believe the bf tried to clean up the blood as much as he could.  i think they then thought it would be a good idea to bury robert in the backyard of the man who's suv it was, and began to attempt to bury him there but either a)realized it would take too long and thought he would be found by the home owner so they decided to take him to the canal instead and put something on him to weigh him down, or b) left him in the backyard for several hours or days and then moved him to the canal.  i strongly believe robert was in that backyard because there is no other reason for the dogs to hit on that area so heavily. 

i think when the mother got home from work, she realized something was wrong.  i think the boyfriend came home after the mother got in from work and told her he was out looking for robert.  i believe this is when he told her the story about the alleged birthday party.  i believe they then reported him missing.  i think the mother may have initially bought the bf's story about the birthday party but then realized it couldn't be possible...

another possibility is that the mother did know what happened and was covering up for the boyfriend, for example, if she saw blood and realized something went wrong and tried to help him clean it. or maybe he confessed to her and it was her idea to have them move the body so it looked like a drowning or something if he was ever found. i dont know, my mind changes everyday on what the mother's involvement is, but the thing im almost certain of is that the bf is the killer...

why do people who obviously can not cope with being a parent keep having children? this mom has 2 of her children that did not live with her and a 3rd child that she injured severely....something is very very wrong with this mother ...jmo....

That he (the BF) called his brother in a panic, who had already been using the "borrowed" truck and his brother helped him dispose of Robert.

also, hadn't Robert only been with his mother for a very short time? how would he have already been invited to a birthday party when he wouldn't have known anyone? and Robert did not seem like the type of child who would get mad about not being allowed to go to the party and leave the house on his own because he was mad...and the bf would not have let him be so defiant to him imo....he would have "taught him a lesson" if Robert had smarted off to him...jmo...

According to the site, Robert was a happy boy who loved to give hugs and dance to music on his MP3 player. Robert loved movies, especially comedies and slapstick humor. He loved cartoons, Transformers, Garfield and Harry Potter books. He thrived on reading, the Web site says, and was always at 150 to 200 percent of his reading goal at his school, New Plymouth Elementary.

"Robert's favorite thing to do was laugh," according to the site, which features numerous family photos of Robert enjoying birthday parties, Easter and Halloween ... Robert loved to meet new people and make new friends ... He loved life and people so much that he would run up to strangers and give them hugs. Little man sounds like a wonderful little boy any parent would be proud of. It's so sad and so wrong that this little boy lost his life at age 8.
