I have a feeling they are waiitng until after the memorial service to make arrests.  Then I think they will arrest the bf and maybe Melissa too.

i think you are right, especially since it's family members that would most likely be arrested and it's not some serial killer on the loose.

That would make sense....and I think it would be very respectful to Robert.
Yes, that is probably what they are doing, is the boyfriend still in the hospital?

according to a poster on another site who lives in the apt complex, he has been released from the hospital and the mother allegedly called the apt complx and told them not to allow him near the apartment (not that anyone is allowed in there as its prob a crime scene away)  but again, i don't know how accurate this info is.

I love this picture of little man Robert. He reminds me of my son when my son was younger. He had a hat fetish. He had a firehat, a construction hat, a police hat, any kind of hat, he had and I have pictures of him and my dad (lol) in all of them.

Here is a slideshow of Robert's pictures, that are also on the myspace his family set up for him.
http://www.ktvb.com/perl/common/slideshow/sspop.pl?recid=17734&nextimage=0

His myspace address is: http://www.myspace.com/meetrobertmanwill

Ah..TY Pink ..these are such sweet pics of a very adorable child that never should have been allowed in his Mom's home as long as she lived with the drug abuser, that also abused her while she was pregnant with Aiden.

I guess I just can't believe the judge allowed Robert to stay there, and had returned Aiden to that same home.  What the heck is wrong with her?

I know that either the Mom did this or the BF did?  I just know that in my heart.  And whatever it was, it must have been awful and he must have been so frightened.

I still think besides her work hours on Friday..I want to know her and his whereabouts that entire week.  Since the SUV was taken on Wednesday..I still think something happened then or a day or so before.

Just senseless and could have been avoided had the judge simply removed Robert from that home.  I hope they remove Aiden too.

I think David (the BF's brother) "borrowed" Wallis's SUV on Wednesday (with or without his permission) to kick around and joy ride in while his buddy was out of town. He just happened to have it when Danny called needing his help on Friday.  that's my theory.

He couldn't do leave and get rid of Robert himself because 1.) He may or may not have had access to a vehicle with Melissa being at work. 2.) What if she came home early and no one is home. 3.) He was also taking care of baby Aiden.

Boy gets emotional tribute

Updated 1 hour 7 minutes ago

BOISE — As the sun went down Friday, hundreds huddled in a Boise to pay tribute and say goodbye to slain 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Emotions grew high and candles burned brightly as families gathered near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Cherry Lane and Shoshone Street.

Some wore green ribbons and ate green cupcakes while holding the same shade of balloons in honor of the New Plymouth boy's favorite color — even the candleholders were green.

A shrine full of stuffed bears, dogs, turtles and a menagerie of other animals, toys and flowers grew steadily as a crowd gathered for the candlelight event, which featured a balloon release at dusk, and food for those who arrived to remember Robert.

"Rest in Peace Robert. Boise will not let you be forgotten" read a sign in the middle of the shrine, bringing back memories of the 10-day search for the boy that ended in tragedy.

His body was found in an Ada County canal Monday after he was reported missing July 24. Boise police officials said his death was not an accident and they're investigating it as a homicide.

Neighbor recalls boy

Neighbor Tori Oldroyd, who attended the vigil with her husband, Craig, said she saw the young boy the same day he disappeared:

"It matched up exactly with the time on the reports," she said.

"We have a puppy and I was outside with the puppy when Robert yelled back to his friends that (he) couldn't stay."

The search for Robert brought helping hands from all of the Treasure Valley's law enforcement agencies and volunteers from across the region. The numbers added up to more than 2,000 volunteers.

"We're just here to support the community and the loss they have all felt," Craig Oldroyd said at the vigil.

Holly Sheffield of Boise said she grew up with Robert's mother and felt she should pay her respects, coming to the vigil with two of her children and her cousin, Jeanette Brooks.

"I was amazed at how the community came together to look for Robert. It's sad it takes something this devastating to bring us together, but it's amazing," Sheffield said.

Brooks, who has an 8-year-old boy of her own, added: "Even the idea of not knowing where he is for even two seconds would drive me crazy ... I want them to know the community is here for them and anything they may need. There's nothing we can do to bring him back, but hopefully the support can help."

Range of emotions

No suspects have been named in the incident, but Boise Deputy Police Chief Jim Kerns said there is no evidence a stranger abducted Robert.

The boy's family came forward in a press conference this week to thank the community and the officials who aided in the search.

Shannda Pope and her partner came from Meridian to the vigil with four girls ranging in age from 2 to 13, who watched the story unfold on television.

"I think that when a little kid dies, it brings together an entire community in a different way than when you hear about murders on TV," Pope said. "The scary part I think is that now no one knows, so there is someone who killed a boy out there."

Melissa Jenkins, mother of 8-year-old Robert Manwill, is consoled by Nikki Adams, of Boise, shortly after supporters released dozens of green balloons into the sky at the vigil.

Charles Manwill, father of Robert Manwill, is consoled during a vigil for his son on Friday evening across from the Oak Park Village apartment complex in Boise.

Community comes together to say goodbye to Robert

Story Updated: Aug 7, 2009 at 10:33 PM MDT
By Kiersten Throndsen

BOISE - Friday night marked two weeks since 8-year-old Robert Manwill was originally reported missing. Hundreds of community members showed up to honor the little boy and say goodbye.

"Robert is our little boy and now he is your little boy," said Trish Burrill, Robert's Aunt, as she addressed the crowd.

A number of Robert's family attended the vigil, thanking the community for everything they have done over the past two weeks.

Dozens of green balloons were released into the air in honor of Robert's favorite color.

"I think everybody grew to love Robert if they knew him or not," said Stephaine Mishler, a Boise resident who helped search for Robert since the beginning.

Many people who attended the vigil said they hoped it would help bring closure to not only the family but also everyone who supported the search effort and let Robert into their hearts.

"We are a strong community and I think tonight will help bring hope that if something happened to another child we would all be there," said Amber Jones, a resident of Boise.

Candles were lite and a moment of silence was heard before the crowd left.

Robert's family has invited everyone to show up at the Meridian Speedway Saturday night as they race in Robert's name.

His funeral service is scheduled for Sunday at 2:00p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Robert's family says the community is welcome to attend.

Hundreds of teddy bears from Manwill memorial will be donated Saturday

By KATY MOELLER - kmoeller@idahostatesman.com

More than 200 teddy bears that have been left at what has become a makeshift memorial site for Robert Manwill will be taken to the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, according to the Boise couple who set out the first trio of teddy bears after the 8-year-old went missing July 24. The personal letters, photos and other items left in tribute to Robert will go to his family.

Robert's body was found in a canal near Kuna on Monday. Police say they are investigating his death as a homicide.

Nikki Adams, of Boise, said her kids picked out three of their own teddy bears and placed them on the sidewalk on Shoshone Street, near the Oak Park Village apartment where Manwill's mother lives.

They were among hundreds of people who gathered at the memorial Friday to remember Robert.

"It was so when he came home he'd get to be with his teddy bears," Adams said.

With each passing day, the number of teddy bears grew. Visitors left other items, including photos, cards and candles. It became a gathering spot for nightly vigils, with many lighting candles.

Gina Guzzetta-Dalrymple, 36, felt so moved to watch over the site — and keep the candles burning — that she decided to sleep in a tent next to it.

"I wanted to make sure the vigil stayed safe and secure," she said.

At about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, her third night watching over the site, Guzzetta-Dalrymple was arrested by police and taken away in handcuffs. She was booked into the Ada County Jail on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear in court. She posted bond and was out by midnight.  {me - this SUCKS}

Guzzetta-Dalrymple said she is really angry about getting arrested.

"There's only a homicide (investigation) going on. Let's go after me," she said Friday. She said she planned to camp out again at the site Friday night.

Vigil honors Robert Manwill
Katherine Jones - Idaho Statesman
Published: 08/08/09

Hundreds of people gathered to remember 8-year-old Robert Manwill on Friday night across the street from Robert’s mother’s Vista Avenue-area apartment. Leonora Porter and her three children wrote a message on a photo of Robert, whose body was found Monday. “We knew him. Robert was our friend,” Porter said. Friends and strangers brought stuffed animals, lit candles and released green balloons — Robert’s favorite color. They ate pizza, meatballs, green cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches, Robert’s “favorite sandwich.”

PUBLIC SERVICES SET • Racing dedicated to Robert, Meridian Speedway, Saturday, 335 S. Main St. in Meridian. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m. •Funeral services, 2 p.m. Sunday, Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N. Cloverdale Road, Boise.

Lexi Humpherys, 10, left, and Destiny Fleenor, 10, seek out Robert's father, Charles Manwill, to give him a hug. "I felt real sad for him. I wanted to cheer him up a little," said Destiny. Although neither knew Robert, Lexi's brother went to school with him. The girls attended the vigil "to respect Robert's family," said Lexi.

Nikki Adams, right, and Robert's mother, Melissa Jenkins, share tears after the release of green balloons.
