Bloodhound dog being used in Manwill search

01:01 PM MDT on Sunday, August 2, 2009

BOISE - Sunday brings another day in the search for Robert Manwill, but still few new leads or answers.

Very few details came out of a noon news conference, but police did say the investigation continues to be an "hour by hour" search.

Boise Police Deputy Chief Jim Kerns stressed that members of the public should avoid buying into rumors - and instead stick to reliable media sources. He said the department is working to give the media updates in the case as they are available.

A bloodhound has been brought in from Indiana, courtesy of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The dog has been used in the search, but police would not detail how the animal was used.

Manwill's aunt and family spokesperson Trish Burrill said she hoped families around the Valley would remember Robert as they sit down for family activities today.

Kerns gave additional detail about the Friday public search for Manwill. He said volunteers not only came from the Vista neighborhood and Boise as a whole, but also from Caldwell, Nampa, Mountain Home, Meridian, Kuna, Cascade and Horseshoe Bend.

The next news briefing is set for Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m.

So there is no news briefing tomorrow. ::shakes head::

I don't know when Robert was brought to Boise, I'm thinking the father of the boyfriend might have brought him, because he said he has in the past, but if he did this time I don't know. Also, was Robert spending the summer with his mom? I thought I read that.

I read the summer and I read a visit. Summer visitation is often granted to the non-custodial parent though.

I also wonder who did the transfer. Did dad drop him off or did "grandpa" pick him up?

Here in OH, non-custodial parents are granted 3weeks of summer visitation.  I would be surprised it this custody agreement was that liberal.  Ok, now I'm going back to page 12.

This case reminds me of Jada Justice.  JMO.  Lovin

It reminds me of Nevaeh.
This case reminds me of Jada Justice.  JMO.  Lovin

It reminds me of Nevaeh.

It reminds me of both of them. You can usually get a "feeling" for how the outcome is going to be after a day or two of news. Once details start coming out.

I had hope in both those cases. I prayed everyday but I knew deep down it would not be a happy outcome. I so wanted to be wrong.  Just like I want to be wrong here.

I want the litte man to be found safe and be returned to his daddy, his step-mom and his older brother. Never to be in the claws of his mother or BF again.

Unless there is some other information I am not aware of, since the Suburban was stolen/borrowed two days before Robert went missing, I am thinking whatever happened to him happened before Friday. Wallis stated the bloodhound hit on the Suburban, and that is what peaked the LE attention. The fact that the grandfather said he "thought" he saw Robert on Friday, makes me wonder....I don't want to say what I wonder.

The fact that Daniel was "down in the back" makes me think that he had recently done some hard work, like digging, or picking up a nine year old boy, and worse. I don't like where my mind is going, but it is going there anyway.

I wish I could be optimistic about the outcome. I will continue to pray. I wish I could believe that some kind soul came along and took Robert out of this he77hole he was in, and gave him a good home, and he is well and happy. The fact of the matter is, something awful has happened to him. I just hope they find him soon, and whoever did this to him will be behind bars. It will not be a satisfactory outcome, but under the circumstances, I guess it is the most that I can hope for.  an angelic monkey

Okay so I started to *bold* things in the above article but the whole thing is disturbing.

She was pregnant in January but had complications...is she still pregnant (hope not)?  Or did she lose that baby (hopefully)?

My final thought after reading that is poor poor Robert.   What a shame

Responding to my own post to clarify that I dont normally wish it upon anyone to lose a child....even miscarriages are heart breaking.

I do however wish that parents like Melissa would never be allowed or able to have children.

Leroy I think this baby she was pregnant with in Jan 08 was probably Aiden, the little infant she abused in October of 08.  She was probably toward the end of the pregnancy in Jan when Robert's Dad got custody.

I think it means down in the back of the apartments. Outside back behind the apartments. They live upstairs.

Pink - thanks for finding that ariticle about what grandpa said....the use of the word "thought" is just not cutting it for me.  So yes, who besides mom and b/f last saw Robert??  Surely BPD would know this.

Gypsy - wow, i totally missed the 2008 date when I read that.  Thanks for clarifying it for me.

Lovin - you are the best....I did it on the first try....thanks again!!

(Ehrlick Jr.) told me that Robert was down in the back. When I came to the door, I don't know if it was then that I spotted it, or I spotted it before, but I spotted another boy that looked just like Robert with a white T-shirt on" Ehrlick Sr. said.

http://www.idahostatesman.com/eyepiece/v-print/story/852598.html

Daniel told "grandpa" that Robert was "down in the back".

He was at the apartment door and thought he saw Robert in a white shirt.

I read down in the back now as being downstairs back behind the apartments.

Good afternoon sweet Monkey friends!

Fanny I thought maybe "down in the back"  was meaning that the little boy was playing out in back of the apartments.  The grandfather gave me the impression that his son said the boy was there, but since he glimpsed a child from a distance...he couldn't be sure it was Robert.  That's just how I took the meaning.

I also think the grandfather is carefully wording that so we know he saw a child at a distance that could have been Robert, but all he has to go on is his son's telling him Robert was there.  I think grandpa even thinks something may have happened earlier in the week.  I think maybe something happened to Robert by either the Mom or boyfriend, then they stole..err borrowed the friends car for a few days to depose of the body.  I think the friend has a suspicion they are the ones that used it
the car.  And the friend was out of town that weekend..if they knew that they may have planted evidence in that yard and neighborhood..since it is near the grandpa..who they have tried to say did it.

I don't believe them..Grandpa seems like he would never have hurt this child.  I think they picked him because they are still smarting over Grandpa telling the courts these fools shouldn't have this boy at all.

That's just my opinion ..can't wait until they find this child  and make an arrest or two for his murder.

Anyone interested in Forensic Astrology: Soulscape has done a chart for Robert, it points exactly where our minds are leaning:
Credit Soulscape @ WS : http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87148&page=2

**respectfully snipped (more @ link)**

All of these testimonies scream that the mother was deeply involved in this disappearance. Tragically, they also point to the probable homicide of little Robert.

Sadly,

Shadow Stalker is glad that he is not news worthy....so press doesnt know who i am

from Robert's older half-brother's myspace page.

Poor kid. He looked in such pain at the briefing. What he must be going through as a young person. It's hard enough on adults but he is so young and quite possibly both of his brothers have been murdered by their mothers.

I just want to hug him.

I had read a bit more on this case. It is like watching a train wreck! Why on earth did the mom and her boyfriend have unsupervised custody of Robert.

All of us have said the same thing Tracy, from the instant we heard about the mother's injury to her infant son.

CPS, the court system  and the judges involved all have Robert's blood on their hands. They allowed him to have unsupervised visitation and put him at risk by doing so.

What car thief steals a car and then "returns" it? The car wasn't stolen. Someone borrowed it. Someone that knew him. Why didn't they impound that SUV? The dog "hit" on it.
There could be evidence of Robert being in it.
