The search continues for a missing 8 year old boy, and now the FBI is getting involved. Charles McClure of the Boise Police department says they've handed out fliers, stopped cars, and searched a canal and a nearby pond trying to find Robert Manwill who was last seen Friday night about 9:30 near his home in the 2800 block of Cherry Lane. Robert is 4 foot 11 with dark hair, brown eyes and weighs about 50 pounds. If you have any info, please call 343-COPS.

They did search the canal by the apartment on Friday night and Saturday.

Police initially said last week that they had ruled out the canal as a search location

I know I just caught that.  did they publicly announce this?  Could someone have moved him there since they knew it wasn't an area of interest?  Ughh, I'm just sick to my stomach...

I'm thinking that the banks of the canal were searched near the apartment and no tracks, footprints, or skid places where he might have slipped in were found. I don't think that is where he was first placed in the irrigation canal. There was probably a reason for a suburban being used as a vehicle getting to a more remote terrain. JMO

A passerby driving by is the one who saw the body.

The body is in a different county as from where Robert disappeared from.

The aunt and other family members are at the police station for word and the mother and her boyfriend are not there with the rest of the family.
Also today the bloodhound picked up a scent and the news said the police will go in further at a press conference later tonight.

They will have more on the five o'clock news.

According to this article, they did search the canal near the apartment. They probably searched to the first grate. I don't know.

Why aren't the bio egg donor and her boyfriend with the rest of the family ?
I will be sure to jump to no conclusions here. There might be a health issue, ( theirs ) if they are with the rest of the family.

Terrible news, poor little boy....When I worked at the child abuse center we would see this all of the time. Such an effort to reunite children with their bio parents although there is a history of abuse. A little boy I was close to had been taken to the hospital with serious injuries before he was taken away for good.

Channel 2 said that the area around the canal has now been declared a crime scene.

The Ada Corner has just confirmed the body as a male juvenile.
