Thanks for all the answers regarding the canal. I was just worried that maybe it was dark and he was walking along it and slipped in and couldn't get out.

That is NOT what I think happened BTW. Just trying to be objective here. JSM

I guess we are all hoping that a parent wouldn't do this to their own child.  Unfortunately, deep down we know that it happens more often within the family.  I wish they would make parents pass some type of psychological test to have a child.  Or atleast, if you lose a child due to negligence or abuse --they should sterilize you.  Harsh, huh?

 I hope he didn't suffer.

Does anyone know if they were down? They are usually down when there is a current flowing to catch the debris. Even if they weren't, I have a feeling he was place in the water in that general vicinity. JMO

I was hoping his "mom" had nothing to do with this, but all fingers point towards her, especially after I read that the BF father said she was so harsh on the child and her bashing in the skull of an infant shows to me she has major anger problems.

Sure, sure! Don't jump to conclusions. Just because the mom and her live-in both have histories. Mom cracking her baby's head open, and her live in can't even be near her small daughter and shouldn't even be living there in the first place.. No, don't jump to conclusions! They have their "rights" and "issues." No, don't use any logical thought process on this.

I am sure some sleezy lawyer and a psycological councilor can figure a good tidy reason why this happened. In the meantime, another small child's life is snuffed out. But be careful, don't jump to conclusions.

Most often than not "logic dictates".

I am angry.  Adults are meant to be the protector of children ... especially parents.

Melissa Jenkins left the Boise police headquarters in tears Monday afternoon, and later police officials confirmed why: The body found in a canal between Boise and Kuna Monday is of a boy about the same age and size of her missing 8-year-old son, Robert Manwill.

No picture, no source. I wonder where they got the information that she left the police station crying.

I will not comment any further because I am afraid of what I might say.

Ty for the updates and maps Fanny and others.
Who ever gave that bio egg donor visitation needs to lose their job.
Why would these persons even want visitation ? I suppose it will all come out with some sort of CFS and perhaps a judge who issued the order, but it is too late for this litttle man Robert as JSM calls him. It happens here too frequently for anyone's liking and it happens again and again.

If you follow the canal further down the route, you can see it goes into more remote areas. The bright green half circles, circles and rectangles are where the farmers are using the water to irrigate the fields. Sometimes they use the circular turning kind of sprayers that are huge and pump a lot of water. Some times they use other types. But you can see the contrasts of the high desert and the irrigated fields. If he had gone much futher, it would have probably been more and more unlikely he would have been found.

No idea hon. I agree with you about him being placed. I said that earlier.

Five grates. I doubt they were all open for him to pass through.

i gotta say that the bio dad & family are in my prayers...the chances of losing two children at the hands of two different wives is like lightening striking in the same place twice. i also wonder if there is some kind of mental sickness that would cause a woman that so obviously hates children to have a baby with every man she is with??? it does not excuse her actions - but i guess it would go a long way in helping me understand that there was a reason for any of this...

There is no reason. She slept around and got knocked up. She had too many children and she was an abusive mom. It happens all the time. The board is full of mother's that kill their children. Most children that are killed are killed by family members.

That the court let her have unsupervised visitation of any of her offspring after she fractured the skull of an eight month old, has every bit to do with Robert being dead tonight as the mom and the BF.

jmo

yes pink, unfortunately i know you are right, the statistics show these things...  the court system is a whole other problem, i think someone should be held responsible for this little boy losing his life...there is no excuse for these two people to have had any children in their care whether they were biological or step children....they couldnt even support them financially - the grandpa was giving them money to help them get by...

Bless the first responding deputy's heart that dived in and pulled the body out of the canal. I am sure he/she will be haunted for a long time, if not forever by this. Keep them in your prayers tonight too.

Maybe he is still nursing his "bad back." I still think that is what grampa meant.  I have tried to find his interview again, but I gave up. I though I remembered him saying something about his son being on the sofa as he "was down in the back." Getting rid of an 8 yr old is hard work, I suppose. JMO

There was an "expert" article posted a few pages back that said people shouldn't jump to conclusions in respects to the mom and BF being guilty, just because of their past records and that they were the ones that last had Robert in their care.

It's sarcasm, in regards to the article.
