I found through many talks with family and documents after my Father passed away that I have many relatives that were Cherokee Indian. I found this Prayer.
-----------------------

For Robert

Precious Child   an angelic monkey

Cherokee Prayer Blessing

May the Warm Winds of Heaven

Blow softly upon your house.

May the Great Spirit

Bless all who enter there.

May your Mocassins

Make happy tracks

in many snows,

and may the Rainbow

Always touch your shoulder.

God Bless you Little Man

Deenie that is just beautiful.

Neighbors react to news of body found in canal

Story Updated: Aug 3, 2009 at 11:22 PM MDT
By KBCI staff
BOISE - The Ada County Coroner has confirmed the body pulled from the New York Canal Monday afternoon is that of a young boy.

While police are not saying if the body belongs to missing 8-year-old Robert Manwill they did say during a news conference the body matches the age and size of Robert. It's news that has many in this community nervous about the outcome of Robert's case.

They walk to a makeshift memorial set up for Robert Manwill with heavy hearts.

"There's an idea that it's him," said Andrea Belvoir, as she and her kids visit the site.

Some of the residents who showed up know Manwill.

"He has that beautiful shy smile that we talk so much about," said Gloria DeKelley, recalling times she has seen Robert playing at the apartment pool.

On Monday night dozens of people, friends, and neighbors showed up at the memorial site continuing to show their support for Manwill and his family. While many have remained so hopeful, others fear now with the latest news that the body pulled from the New York Canal may belong to Robert.

"If it is him, that he no longer is suffering and it's kind of sad that it took this long," said Cheryl Olsen as she visited the memorial site.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the body pulled from the water, they are currently waiting for that information to come from the Ada County Coroner's Office, but they did say the body matches the description in size and age to Robert.

While neighbors say it is hard to remain hopeful, especially knowing that, one thing they say won't change is how much this little boy means to so many.

"We love him and we care for him and he will always be part of us, always," said DeKelley.

Members of Manwill's family did show up to the memorial site on Monday evening, including his mother. They continue to ask for privacy right now, waiting to see what will be released Tuesday. They did thank the community for showing support and appreciate the site that has been established outside Robert's apartment.

I have to say this .. because I feel I have too.

I am not usually a person that wishes bad things.. But Can we say that Robert's Mom needs to " STOP" having children. That it is court ordered that she have her baby maker shut down.

I swear I don't understand WHY people continue to have children so they can be abused and thrown into the system for basic survival  - for Protection from their own Mother. If you have a track record that every child you have is taken away from you ..and or abused by you, or by the people you entertain within your lifestyle ( the reason why they are taken away) should it not " Be Clear" that you were not meant to have kids?

I couldn't agree more

me either.
good morning monkeys -- its hard to have children in jail-and that is where she should spend the rest of her life-weather she killed Robert or not-she fracture her baby head-she didnt know what the hell Robert was wearing -out by himself at night -by all accounts that child lived in fear when he was with her.  Family memebers said he liked to go to small places -yea to get away from a sicko mother

Body in canal: Is it Robert Manwill?
The boy pulled from the water is the age and size of the missing 8-year-old, but officials won't know for sure who he is or how he died until an autopsy

Melissa Jenkins left the Boise police headquarters in tears Monday afternoon, and later police officials confirmed why.

A dead boy found in an irrigation canal between Boise and Kuna Monday could be her missing 8-year-old son, Robert Manwill.

Boise Deputy Police Chief Jim Kerns said Monday that they could not positively identify the boy until after an autopsy Tuesday by the Ada County coroner's office.

Neither the Boise Police Department nor Ada County Sheriff's Office has any other active cases of missing persons matching the description of the boy found Monday, officials said.

Boise police were about to start a 2 p.m. news conference about the Manwill case Monday when they suddenly canceled - about a half-hour after two people saw the body of what appeared to be a young boy floating in the New York Canal near Cloverdale Road in southern Ada County.

The first Ada County deputy who arrived jumped into the water and pulled the boy to the side of the canal, Kerns said. A short time later, Boise police detectives and coroner's officials showed up and removed the body.

About three hours later, Robert's mother, Melissa Sue Jenkins, appeared to be crying as she left the Boise police station, physically supported by two other family members. Other family members left the station in groups, escorted to their cars by a police officer. Police said the family did not want to comment and asked for privacy.

In contrast with previous news conferences, Robert's family did not attend Monday's somber announcement. Kerns stood next to FBI agent Jon Morton as he delivered grim news.

"A missing child is every family's nightmare, and a heartache for the entire community. All of us, including the investigators on this case, have said to ourselves, 'What if Robert were my child?'" Kerns said. "Our hearts go out to Robert's family tonight as they wait in private for a positive ID from the coroner."

The canal is the same one that crosses Vista Avenue less than a half-mile from the apartment where Robert was reportedly last seen.

A New York Canal company worker said it would be possible for a body to travel from where the canal passes Vista Avenue to where a body was found Monday.

In the past couple of decades, bodies have floated for as long as at least two weeks and as far as at least 14 miles.

But the spot where this body was found also is about 2 miles southeast of the Ada County home near Five Mile Road where police searched a backyard over the weekend.

The man who lives there, Evan Wallis, says he knows Melissa Jenkins and her boyfriend, Daniel Ehrlick Jr., but has no idea what happened to Robert, who was reported missing from his mother's apartment July 24, shortly after 10 p.m.

Wallis told the Idaho Statesman Friday police were digging up his backyard after bloodhounds picked up a scent at his house. He said his Chevy Suburban had been stolen the Wednesday before Robert disappeared and that he found it the Monday after.

Boise police have not disclosed what evidence they removed from his home, or from Jenkins and Ehrlick's apartment off Vista Avenue, which was searched at least twice last week.

After the searches, police announced they had found undisclosed evidence indicating that Robert could be injured or the "victim of a tragic event." They still have not identified any suspects or people of interest in the case.

And why was it voluntary manslaughter and not murder. Can anyone answer that for me.

Why was Robert's mom allowed to plead down to injury to a child when she was charged with felony child abuse?

The system that is in place to serve and protect the children, is letting them down as much as their parents. They are putting this lambs back into the lions den.

The judge that ordered unsupervised visitation for Robert with his mother, has Robert's blood on his/her hands tonight.

Community reacts to 'very sad' news of body
 - Idaho Statesman
Published: 08/04/09

"I'm awfully sad that he is not found alive. When we went to do something over there, definitely half of me felt we may not find him alive because it was already five days. We were just being practical. Unless he is injured, he would have reached for help. We tried to help them out. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything."

Boise mother Neeraja Kusuma participated in Friday's search. Kusuma's brother disappeared for 24 hours when she was 10 years old.

"We have been watching throughout the weekend and (Monday) all of the updates. We are putting the pieces of puzzle together, and we are just very sad. We are trying not to judge the parents. It's the first thing people are saying. Even if the parents did do that, something very tragic must have happened in their lives to cause them to do that. From a mother of two, I couldn't imagine. I can't imagine how life can go on. It is tragic. I just pray that his death was very fast, that he did not feel any pain and he's in a better place. I just wish it would have had a better turn out for that little guy."

New Meridian resident Jessica Meyers searched with her husband and son Friday.

"It is a scary thing for a parent to hear, when there is a child missing and you are waiting for news. ... You don't yet know ... the possibility is there. You don't know yet. It's very hard to be a parent in that position. It's relief, because yes, you have an answer. You don't keep searching and don't know what is going on.

Another way, you lost your child. It's a terrible, terrible thing. Mixed reaction. You got your answer, you know, but at the same time you lost your child."

Boise resident and parent Gloria McGuigan also searched on Friday.

"It's devastating, but happy that if it is him, he's been found, just for his family. But (it's) tragic. Not that it was unexpected, but heartbreaking nonetheless. I don't think anybody out on the search would say that it was unexpected. But it's just heartbreaking. I feel for the family. My first reaction is that it's probably him. They found that evidence where they said a tragic event could have occurred. Very disappointed. Very, very tragic."

Nampa mother Patti Musser searched for Robert on Friday.

The craziest thing IMO is that it was a female judge!

When Jenkins pleaded guilty to misdemeanor injury to a child on March 31, 2009, Judge Cathleen MacGregor Irby asked Jenkins what she did that "would make her guilty of that offense."

Good Morning Monkeys and guests.  an angelic monkey

DEENIE, a beautiful Cherokee blessing for Robert.

NORTHERN ROSE, Roberts body was found way downstream from the dam. I hope you got some much needed sleep.

PINK, it looks like you didn't get much sleep again last night.

Robert was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning. That and the pouring rain make me want to go back to bed, and cover my head. I dreamed of dirty, slowly moving water last night, and I couldn't crawl up the steep sides of the bank....
