Is Klaas ok with the California fires???

Yep, I'm fine.  Just been busy in the other threads.  The fires aren't anywhere near me.  I think IBE and LouiseV are fine as well.  Not sure about Frank (deetch) or Hat.  I believe they both live closer to where the fires are.
Thanks Klaas....I was worried about You!    an angelic monkey

Thanks

The Haleigh and Caylee threads have been really busy.  We've had a few trouble makers and I've had to ban a couple of newly approved members that came to complain and nothing else.

Usually first thing in the morning and last thing at night I check Aruba stuff.  I go check RU and other forums and the ArubaBB, and news sites.  If there's anything that hasn't been posted I'll post it.

Gosh, it seems Southern California burns every year! I thought all the "underbrush" had all been burned out!

It's really surprising how much undeveloped area there is in the hills.  Alot of brush and you would think there wouldn't be anything left to burn, but it grows back so quick!  Yes, every year fires, especially in the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Mountain area.

They are saying that big one, where the two firemen died was arson.

Natural fires are a necessary part of the cycle of Nature -- Arson is just so vile and so evil. I'm glad you are safe!

Island Has Become Increasingly Gay Friendly In The Last Years, But More Needs To Be Done

September 2nd 2009, Aruba.

ORANJESTAD-Aruba will experience its first Gay Pride Parade which will be held on September 13th.
Aruba Gay Rights Organization has requested to organize a Gay Pride Parade, and their petition
was recently honored. The goal of the parade is to gain recognition from politicians, and to see
which political party best meet their interest. The Gay Pride Parade will be held just 12 days before
Election Day on September 25th.

Many politicians come and sit with the gay community privately, but do not defend the gay
community publicly. Aruba is a predominantly Catholic country, and politicians may fear a loss in
votes and popularity from religious groups. It is the reason why the Aruba Gay Rights Organization
has decided to come out at a very open manner organizing a Gay Pride Parade. The intention is to
show Aruba that their vote does count, and that they are also human beings.

Aruba can be considered a gay friendly island, where there is a gay bar (Jimmy's Place), and even a
privately owned gay hotel. In the past the island was one of a few in the region to accept a gay
cruise to call in Oranjestad. Crime against persons based on their sexual preference rarely happens
in Aruba. Nevertheless the island has a long way to go in accepting gays.

Contrary to The Netherlands, gay marriage is illegal in Aruba. and married gay couples are not
allowed to register as partners in the island's civil registry. Aruba's stance on gay marriage and the
registry of gay couples has led to conflicts with The Netherlands. The Netherlands accuses Aruba
for not accepting migrant Dutch gay couples on Dutch territory, and Aruba accusing The
Netherlands of interfering with the norms and values on the island that are different than that of
the Dutch.

Aruba is the first country in the Caribbean to have an official Gay Pride Parade.

I'm glad the fires aren't in your area Klaas, I've been worried too!

I'd gone to look at your latest posts after wreck mentioned it, to see if you'd said anything about it elsewhere...and you have had your hands full!  I don't know how you do it!

We are very blessed to have you, THANKS for all you do!

And thanks for dusting that old picture off...love it!   Monkey Devil!

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

I will say this.As i'm by nature a very impatient person. It is difficult to be such but,i must remain steadfast in my belief that although there is no observable progress.Progress is being made.I have too much faith that Good will outweigh evil in the end.Look at Jaycee Dugard!Justice has not come soon enough for any of us,but i BELIEVE IT WILL COME!It sucks for those who will be on the bottom side of this gavel.THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE!
