seriously, I think someone might have saw harvey oakes there and told the police he was some susipicious guy in the bushes and told them about his vehicle being up the logging road.

if so, might be their beer bottles he found.

I really want to know what kind of vehicle he has.

assuredly folks knew he was there.  I'm assuming he's walking down the street with his dog.  That would be hard to miss.   Hopefully someone does know what make of vehicle he has.
o/t can't sleep, really concerned about my sister Connie.
Pray for a successful search this weekend.

well if they found stuff they could also be in the bushes looking around.

I am very serious here.  I honestly think someone saw him and his vehicle and turned him in to the police.  you would have to understand the whole story. If I could figure out what kind of a vehicle he drove I would know.

McCleary's main industry and largest employer is Simpson Door Company - McCleary Operations - which produces stile and rail solid wood doors. The operation has 350 employees

350 employees, I would think they are not all from mccleary
what shifts do they work?

I may have missed it, but I do not recall KaraK saying on this forum she received a copy of the report from Mr. Oaks.  She did say she spoke with him.
The witnesses are who KaraK is talking about with the 6th street info, not Mr. Oakes.
It was not until last night that I had ever heard of Beck Street being searched by anyone and it was only until last night that I had ever heard of the "Death Scent" via the e-mail Mr. Oakes sent to Janet and then she posted on the thread.  If this info had been out before, I sure don't recall it and I know for sure that some of us have never researched what even may be on Beck Street.  That was why I was puzzled by its mention.  Course, it may have already been posted on a different forum.
Janet, could you post your original e-mail and the entire e-mail he sent you as his seems to be in mid-thought.  Of course, I know you have to block out your e-mail address.  Thanks.
On WS or IS JenniferO posted that KaraK shared the dog search report with her and DD.I will have to find those posts and post them here when I get home from work.

When Lindsey left my house she headed down maple street - my daughter watched her until the neighbors trees got in the way that would have been before she hit the corner of 7th and Maple. Either route she took either straight home or up 6th she would have had to walk down Maple street a ways.

Originally I was told that they picked up Lindsey's scent on the corner of 6th and Maple (near Beehive retirement center) and it went up 6th street (so to me that is a right onto 6th street) I was even told another location nearer to her house where they picked up her scent as well. They are no longer saying this and are now saying the dogs never picked up a scent (that's impossible isn't it????) So I am confused and not sure now what the real story is.

I do want to let you know I just had a visitor that Lindsey's family hired - an independent tracker renowned for helping where others have failed http://www.k9sardog.com/harryoakes.html and he says he picked up a scent nearly the same as I was told before. He cut his usual fee and is currently trying to track using his trained dogs. Pray he finds something that the others have missed!!!

Considering LE claims on June 28, 2009 and July 2, 2009 that the tracking dogs did not pick up Lindsey's scent ... who "originally" told Kara Kampen prior to July 4, 2009 (post date) that Lindsey's scent was detectected on 6th and Maple and ... then along Maple.

Whoever the person was ... apparently Harry Oakes confirmed it

TRACKING DOGS - SHERIFF RICK SCOTT

KOMO News - June 28, 2009

A wide-ranging search was launched early Saturday in the town and the surrounding forests. The town was criss-crossed three times, but not a trace of Lindsey has been found. Even bloodhounds failed to pick up her scent.

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/49383897.html

The Daily World = July 2, 2009

Scott said authorities have run into several dead ends with almost no signs of the 4-foot-9, brown-haired girl, who was last spotted wearing a blue pullover shirt and blue jeans.

“I don’t know anything more than I knew Saturday afternoon,” he said, “but I’m not willing to admit that I know anything less.”

Scott said bloodhounds traced the route Lindsey took early on from the friend’s house to her own home, but didn’t find any scent. And in places where Lindsey once played — parks and by the creek — Lindsey’s scent has been vanishing.

The loss of scent could be a combination of factors — the heat on the sidewalk could have dissipated it for instance, he said.

I took it upon myself to email Harry Oakes regarding the report that he send to the FBI concerning the canine search for Lindsey Baum.  I specifically asked him about the detection of Lindsey's scent at 6th and Maple and ... then along 6th Street ... as indicated by Kara Kampen on this forum.

The following was not as clear as I had hoped.  However ... it was an appreciated response nevertheless.

we actually tracked up to Beck St then NE To a logging atv road and our search continues there. So far we've located two empty beer bottles, and a track (Scent trail) heading east 6 miles on either a motor cycle or ATV.

we are also (the search dogs) picking up a dead human alert 1/2 mile East of Beck the winds are coming from the south. I can't tell you about anything else we've found. That's been handed over to the McCleary Police.

Note: The death scent on a dead human could be from any "Dead Human" that has died in the area. Not neccessarily the missing child's scent.
