Sunny - did you get your big monitor yet?  You know you can ctrl up and down as needed right?  For me I need it big, but if I need the hidden monkeys in a post I can ctrl -- get them then go back big!

No not yet...husband was tied up...will get it this weekend. Thanks to you, I figured out I could do that...I too need it big...getting old is a biotch!!
Especially the eyes going  It drives me nuts at the store and I forget my closeup glasses, one day I was trying to find the expiration on a pack of weiners, I finally had to ask a clerk

What happened to Northern Rose?

My internet kept dropping last night.  Had a not so enjoyable call with another call centre person who did not have English as a first language again this morning.  At least this one pronounced Router - Rooter .  The last one called it a wowter.  Hi GE- hope you are well.  You did not scare me.  It is just a battle of wills with my connection these days and last night I did not have the fight in me.

NR,you know I have been there.I talked to the wowter people too.

I went through this - for weeeks - recently as I tried to fix my computer after I dropped it ... then again after I got a new one, to have them walk me through setting up the internal high speed card.     It was horrible I tell ya.

One day I got lucky and got someone who spoke English & told him what I'd been through, asked if he could please give me a way to get back directly to him or someone else who spoke English.  He said oh you you don't have to put up with that.  Just tell them to transfer you stateside.   They won't do it voluntarily, but they easily can transfer you if you ask.

Hot dogs have expiration dates?  j/k I love hotdogs.
Here's a funny story.

I was having lunch with friends at the home of a friend's mother, in south of France. She was very old and very formal. It was an amazing home made lunch, several courses, and the best local sausage.  I thought I could speak a little French, so I said "I love the sausage" in French=J'adore le sauccison (?sp). What I actually pronounced was "Je dor le sauccison"(?sp) which = I sleep with sausage!!!!!!  I thought she was going to keel over in horror, and my 2 friends did keel over with laughter.

ANJM so glad to hear Crystol is doing better.

No Rose - ZOE  needs some rose colored glasses!  That would be cute!  Even just sitting by him in the grass.
That would be real cute  I think the peanut butter is good for them a little of it. I can't believe Crystol takes pills without having to hide it in something  If I put a pill in some turkey, she even throws the pill out and eats the turkey

Yeah, she will just crunch her allergy tablet.  When she was little and had the heart worms - I just played the medicine off as a cookie and mama gets that high pitched voice and asks if baby wants a cookie and she starts spinning and dancing and gobbles it up!

I wear my over 40 eyes up on my head like a surfer wears sunglasses.  But on a few occassions, I have forgot them - so I buy new ones to see the expiration dates!  Being single - I need the longest expiration date!  Luckily, I am still in the basic (+2.5 or 3.0) that the grocery carries.

Deenie - I see you up there.  You mentioned Kale a few days ago and I would very much LOVE a new recipe for it.
Hi Ms Northern... I am still here. Ummmm I don't really have any Kale recipes. I have a All Vegan Restaurant local to me. They make it all the time. It is soooo good. They have recipes on their website. I am not sure if they have any for Kale. They steam it and add their magic ( seasonings)

http://www.theinnseasoncafe.com/

They only have one recipe right now and its with Mushrooms and Squash.
Shiitake Butternut Ragout
INN SEASON CAFÉ’S SHIITAKE BUTTERNUT RAGOUT
(Serves 4)

Ingredients:

■3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
■4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
■1/2 cup diced shallots
■2 cups leeks, cut into 1/2-inch slices
■4 cups fresh shiitake mushrooms, stemmed
■4 cups butternut squash, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
■1 cup white wine
■2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
■6-7 whole sage leaves
■3-4 sprigs fresh thyme
■2 tablespoons shogu (soy sauce)
■Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

Heat olive oil in a pan, add garlic and shallots, and sauté for 30 seconds. Add leeks and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add shiitake mushrooms and butternut squash, and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add wine, shoyu, mustard, sage and thyme.

Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes, until butternut squash is tender. Add salt and pepper to taste, and serve with pasta, couscous or wild rice.
------
Everything they make is just amazing Smile

Deenie that sounds yummie!  Thank you!  I have a bumper crop of Kale and a need a new recipe to use some of it up. It i so healthy but boring as I only cook it one way.
