Oh, and one last thing - there is nothing they can do for the EBV and that will frustrate me too.

I have been pretty convinced that I have that so what is the real point of going to the doctors??

But I am going!!  I really am this time.....just in case it is something else.
You sound like me. Hope everything goes well at the doctor's tomorrow. Waiting, I don't know what's worse, waiting in the waiting room or waiting inside the room they put you in. I have waited already over a hour inside the room going nuts.

Then you understand!!

I hate waiting in the room they put me in more.  At least in the waiting room, I know I need to wait.

EBV is otherwise known as Epstein Barr Virus or can be mentioned along with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Its within all of us as Humans. Takes an Active Virus though such as Mono, Strep, even Chicken Pox to create EBV and  that it lays dormant in the body - after you go thru Mono, Strep, Chicken Pox in your younger years.  Then what happens in times of your immune system is down, or your in stress mode, or your burning your candles at both ends ... Stress meaning Good or Bad stress. EBV comes out and riddles you. What happens is your White Blood Cells triple and eat up your Red Blood cells - due to your Immune system is at war.
It comes out and it grabs you in the Boo Boo and it makes you feel as though you have been steam rolled and your body screams at you - I am so damn tired .. You can't make me do a dang thing ..and you just feel like CRAP from head to toe ...and then comes with it a sore throat and low fever and you feel like POOP period.

I have wondered about it myself because when I was 4 years old ( My Mom thought I was going to die- she said I was in a coma fever state for days ) I had Roseola. Then when I was 6 I had Chicken Pox Twice in one Year. Then when I was 19 I had issues that were very severe with my health, my weight dropped below 90lbs and I was sick all the time. The Doc's told me that my White Blood Count was Off the Chart and I was totally deficient in Vitamin B. I had to prescription Vitamin B for months. I was having tons of chronic Nose Bleeds at that time. They blamed it on Vitamin Deficiency at that time.  Since then I have found out I am anemic and am healthy otherwise.  But I NEVER EVER get a Cold, I never Ever get Sick Ever.  But I do have my bouts that last up to a week or more - that I feel as though I have been Hit by a Truck and Nothing seems to make it go away. Hits me randomly. NOW I am blessed with Pre-Menopause on top of all that. Its a Magical Life Being a Woman

Yep, that is how I feel.

I am only up right now because I wanted to wash my sheets.  Thank God for my daughter, she told me to sit down and she would do it.

I think she wants me to go back to bed.  I have been a tad cranky!  The dogs want me up and won't leave me alone and they are driving me crazy.

Glad you asked that, Klaas, I have no idea what it is either

Basically, it is mono and they do a blood test for it for Epstein Barr.   But there is nothing they can do if you are diagnosed with it.

Well Mono is Mono and EBV is not the same thing.  I had Mono when I was 12

I had mono when I was 15 and then a few years back they did another Epstein Barr Virus blood test and it was positive.  They called said it was mono again.

From the EBV site -"Epstein-Barr virus causes a number of diseases, including infectious mononucleosis."

EBV does not cause chronic fatigue syndrome (see Disorders of Unknown Cause: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), as was once suspected.

Hi Monkey Friends!

Long story short, I have been so sick again!  I am going to the doctor's tomorrow at 2:30!

I have been in bed since Saturday - I can't stay awake more than an hour.  My head feels real heavy, my body aches all over, slight fever!!

It feels like mono again - I pray it is not.   an angelic monkey

I wasn't feeling great last week and self diagnosed and took some antibiotics I had left over.  Probably shouldn't have done that.

Hope every one is doing great.

MT, I am so sorry you are sick...   our cable, tv and phone went out today and just came back on and I read this...I hope it isn't mono either. No more self-diagnosis young miss!     Get your butt to the doctor~!
