"Is her defense team keeping it together?" WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Bob Opsahl asked.

Yes, more Casey Anthony. It was a big day in the case. At 5 tonight, WFTV's legal analyst said the defense team's strategy defied logic. The defense argues there's substantial evidence that someone else dumped Caylee Anthony, and that proves Anthony is innocent of the murder of her child.

At 6, the station studied mistakes by the defense team.

"Last-minute motions, incorrect motions, lack of motions -- it's not the kind of work we were told to expect from Professor Andrea Lyon, as the defense likes to call her," WFTV's Kathi Belich said.

Belich listed the mistakes: In seeking Texas EquuSearch records, defense lawyer Lyon had a last-minute motion with the wrong case number. Lyon hadn't filed the proper paper work to join the Anthony check fraud case. And the defense team failed to alert the media that it wants to keep public records secret.

"There were several missteps," WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said. And he added that Lyon had been touted as an expert and "a lawyer's lawyer."

What does it all mean? Could Anthony's legal dream team be a nightmare?

There were numerous death threats not only to the family but us as well. We had Tracy inside and we were mostly concerned for her safety as well as the Anthony family. Jose knew all along our intentions and what we were doing. That entire situation was very volatile and we owed it to Tracy to keep her safe and to protect the bond. We didn't know what to believe after a while of listening to everybody.

Cindy tells WESH there's no book deal

How did it go today in court for the Anthonys? Another day of wildly varying emotions.

"At the end of the two and a half hour hearing, Casey looked emotionally exhausted, but her mother came away smiling," WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing said this afternoon.

"It was awesome to see my daughter today," Cindy Anthony said, surprisingly upbeat. Her daughter is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee.

Cindy Anthony also told WESH that she and her husband, George, do not have a deal to write a book.

"Before the start of today's hearing, Cindy told WESH her hairdresser had encouraged her to write about the struggles she and George have gone through," anchor Aixa Diaz said. "But she says there is no book deal."

(Is that a loud sigh of relief I hear across the land?)

The Anthonys saw their incarcerated daughter for the first time in three months at a court hearing. Kealing said the hearing was "punctuated by Casey Anthony's tears and George Anthony telling his daughter he loved her."


The news: Anthony's defense team revealed a key part of their strategy, Kealing said. The team contends that someone placed Caylee's remains in the woods after Casey was jailed -- and that proves her innocence.

Texas EquuSearch on Thursday said that spot in the woods was under water in November. The child was found the next month. George Anthony interrupted the new conference Thursday when Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller and attorney Mark NeJame released their information.

But defense attorney Jose Baez answered Texas EquuSearch by calling attention to footage of Anthony private investigator Dominic Casey searching the area in November. That is right Sunny, about Tim repeatedly stating he has not searched Caylee's exact area and he has said this for many months. Plus LE was with him when Tim and TES were in the Suburban area, so yes it is well documented by both Tim and LE. It should be against the law for attorneys to sway potential jurors with blatant lies. They really got my BP to rise today!

What tears? I never saw a single tear. I saw her poking her eyes, and screwing up her face a litte. I didn't see tears. Maybe she really doesn't know how to cry.
