Cape couple questioned about missing Florida girl

SOUTH YARMOUTH – A local family has been questioned regarding the disappearance of a 6-year-old girl from Florida more than six months ago, according to law enforcement officials.

Deputies from a Florida sheriff’s office questioned the local couple Saturday afternoon at the South Yarmouth state police barracks in relation to the Feb. 10 disappearance of Haleigh Cummings, state police Sgt. Robert Finacom said. He referred all other questions to Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe.

“This is an ongoing investigation and the state police detectives assigned to my office are assisting the Florida authorities,” O’Keefe said Saturday night. “I’m not going to make any comments regarding an ongoing investigation.”

Haleigh disappeared in the middle of the night from her home in Satsuma, Fla. Her father’s girlfriend, 17-year-old Misty Croslin, put her to bed and was the last person to see the youngster. Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, 25, was at work when she disappeared, according to published reports.

The case has received national attention, but there have been no arrests.

Misty is uneducated, illiterate, irresponsible and the prime suspect IMO.  I'm sure she has no idea how bad that makes her look or how inapproprate it is.  She just has no idea.

Could it be Larry and his wife if Larry even exists? Or maybe it is the parents of the kids that she wanted to babysit that night?....Oh and I thought that she was so very tired....but she wanted more kids there that evening to take care of? and on a school night?....whatever
