Sending a cool breeze westward for you.  After a week of heat & humidity it's like a fall day today.  Son's not home until tomorrow so I'm trying to get as much stuff done as I possibly can today.  This coming week school starts and with football, etc. it will be crazy busy.

I need to figure out what to do with my feeders too before winter comes.  I get so many cardinals, chickadee's, nuthatch, titmouse.  I like to place it where I can see it from my puter.  My mom's giving me another shepherd's hook so I can have two.  I'm still trying to get a picture of the "mystery bird".

Oh & LMAO about the rooster!!!

I'm going to clean out closets & mop the floors.  Hope to catch ya'll later!
Please come clean my closets out when you are finished lovin

I forgot to tell you guys that I had my meeting with the university yesterday!!!!  I went awesome.  The lady that I met with was sooooooo helpful!  She helped me get everything lined up.  I was a nervous wreck driving there yesterday too.  ANXIETY ATTACK!!!  Of course they're pushing me to start this fall, but I'm not sure I'm ready.  She set me up with an adviser & a career counselor, ones that she thought I would really like and that she would recomend.  So that's my next step. OH, and come up with a way to pay for it!  LOL!  That is why I missed slore's court hearing.  I'm almost all caught up.
Good for you Lovin. I would have turned around if I was having an anxiety attack. I am very proud of you! JSM

I'm not going to the party. That weird guy is out there and I don't want to be around him. He oogs me out.
Probably a good idea. If we all would have a party around here, I wouldn't go because most of the people irritate me  Actually we did have two parties last summer, and I didn't show my face, I just didn't have anything to say, and too many kids running around.

Do they have student loans, that might help. Everything is so expensive, I can't believe the cost of my older daughter's nursing school books, it is shameful.

no rose~  If you've found a bird food you like, I can see why you stick with it.  Sometimes I've tried a different brand of black oiled sunflower seed and there is a bunch inedible junk in it.    I like the safflower seed, because the squirrels don't     You know I had to grease my shepherds crook pole with vaseline to keep the squirrels from shinnying up it?   I was lucky enough to see a painted bunting twice since in the three years I've been here.  That unusual bird you saw may very well have been an escapee from somewhere...
Yes and twice now there has been a rooster just randomly walking through the neighborhood, and there is no farm around here, just kind of strange seeing that.

Some people are keeping chickens now days, even in urban settings.  I hope dogs or something else doesn't get to the rooster.

I know what you mean about the cost of books for college students.  I just went this a.m. and picked up a used book for my youngest son.  $116.00 + TAX.  For a USED book...I had taken a couple of his other textbooks back he used for a summer course, and they bought back one, at $22.00, and the other was now an "older edition", so now worth $0.   My eldest son has been trying to do a letter/email campaign to stop the taxation on college textbooks.  It's tax free weekend here, but it doesn't apply to college textbooks.  I tried...   I was just feeling better because this is the FIRST year I haven't had a student in elem/high school where I had shell out for all those school supplies we were talking about last week.  Instead, it's text books.  The eldest son works part time while he's in college and he and his friends often share or lend each other text books when they can.  And he's snagged some grants and such and every bit helps.  Then we all hope after these kids get out of college, they can find jobs.  But that's a rant for another day...

When I lived in my house my neighbors kept roosters, no chickens. Once I moved the other neighbor said they were having chicken fights in the backyard. I was so glad I moved because if I had been living there, the cops would have been called when it was happening.

Muffy I didn't know college text books weren't on the "tax free" list this weekend. That is so stupid, you can buy a pair of sneakers for $99 and get them tax free, but not school books.

Do you have a link for an email or online petition. This makes me matter than crap.

Muffy,

Try Amazon.com for college text books.  We bought three much cheaper than at  university bookstore.

Yes No Rose I think just in Texas, there is a list of what is tax free and what is not. It is a strange list too. Items have to be under 100 dollars each, certain things are on the list, some are not. It is really a weird list, like some things clothes, shoes, etc are tax free, but some other stuff like a belt may not be tax free. It is supposed to help with school kids, but I could go out and buy a whole wardrobe and it be tax free even though I am not a school kid.  BUT, you have to fight the crowds so I never go shopping on Tax free weekend.

NTCG As far as I know it's only a Texas thing. Daughter is out getting school stuff for grand kids. She got their school supplies yesterday. Every little bit helps.

MuffyBee the text books for college are ridiculous. Daughter had to pay 180 for one today. They didn't have any used ones. The price for text books for any age are way over the top.

JMS Where do singles go out here to meet people?  Since daughter moved here and is basically working from home, trying to figure out where she can go to meets some people her age. We live in a more county area, not in any of the cities.

Green Eyes, if I knew where singles should go to meet people, I might have a boyfriend.

Seriously IDK, my mom says go to church and find a nice man. But since I am Catholic, they are all married except the priest.  Monkey Devil!

Just from JSM's experience, No bars and No internet dates (I have never had one, but had to rescue a friend from one).

WOW I am really stumped on this question. I'm sure if your daughter made friends with some of the ladies in the neighborhood, they could tell you. As for me, I don't have a clue.

Wish I had an answer for you Green Eyes. Sorry.

I can't seem to get the guy I have a crush on to ask me out.
