Hi Monkeys!!  I was trying to find Kat Gram...I know she was preparing for a rough week this week.

Ty for remembering Leroy. yes, Friday big day ugh.
I did go and have a meeting with the rest of my " Team" up at the Hospital.
They have put together a recovery plan for me for the first four weeks.
No laying around having a pity party. I have been spending time with my happy crazy ganddaughters. They pull me up. I have been giddy then sh@t azz scared. I do one more day at work this week ( tomorrow ) then I am just going to take it easy. Lined up my first talk therapy session because I need it
and am going to take advantage of any resources that they have.
Wish it was over already. Five weeks from diagnosis to the surgery seems like way too long. I was more ready three weeks ago. Must be the fear of the unknown building up. Anyway, it will all workout somehow, maybe not the way I want, but it is going to be a challenge. I really do appreciate the support I have felt here and that when I needed to blurt, I felt comfortable enough with mes amies here to do so.

I had a late meeting, it ended early. Went to get Josef from school, they said he had thrown up bile in his kennel earlier today. I thought it was just from him eating that d*mn rawhide bone.

When I get him outside he eats some grass I think cause he has a belly ache. No big deal. He does that alot when I get him from daycare.

On the way home he is panting, no different than usual. I walk him when we get home to see if he needs to go pee he sniffs, walks around tries to go into some bushes where there is a cat all the time.

We get back upstairs he is going ballistic, chewing his paws, scratching, etc. I am frantically searching for benadryl. Can't find any, he walks into the kitchen and his eyes are almost swollen shut. I grab my keys, purse and put him in the car. Call the vet to tell them I am on my way.

They drag him inside to a room, the tech comes in was like OMG Joe, your muzzle is swelling before my eyes and he was panting like crazy.

So they gave him two shots, a steroid and benadryl. His eyes aren't swollen right now and he isn't panting, but he is chewing his feet. Vet said it is like when a person gets hives. I just thought he was going into anaphaltic shock. 

Thank God it was nothing worse. 

But the steroids will make him have to go pee about 20 times tonight. He is digging his hole in the bed, so maybe he will get a good night sleep.

Sorry for being Debby Downer, just needed to vent. Plus it cost $150 which is a lot less than I thought it would cost so that is a plus. 

no downer here...chit jsm, whats up with your dog?  is he just high strung?  old?  i don't know his history and its not my intention to be rude.  i've never had a dog (as an adult) but i never knew they could take benadryl? i hope you and he start feeling better.

You are not being nosy Mama.  Yes Josef is old, he is 11 going on 12. He has been through many injuries and illnesses in his life and I don't want to lose him. He is my angel, so I did what any mother would take him to the doctor to get him well. I visited him every day when he had a big hole in his stomach from coyote bites. He has been fixed twice, had heartworms, was snake bit and didn't know it for a few days. I have slept on the bathroom floor with him when he couldn't make it onto the bed. 

After it was all over, I tried to take a picture of his swollen eyelids and muzzle. His eyes looked like Nancy Pelosi's after her plastic surgery. 

I am still waiting for Obamacare to cover pets, if that happens, I am all for it.

He has been fixed twice,

Yes, fixed once. Couldn't figure out why the wild dogs were going after him. Then took him to the vet, he was like he hasn't been fixed I said yes he was then he opened him up and found that one of them hadn't dropped. He was like 3 years old by then.  Made me mad though because he wouldn't have had the abcess that cost me a fortune if he had been fixed right the first time. 

Me and Joe weren't tight until my Granmother was put on hospice and I was sitting on the deck bawling my eyes out and out of three dogs, he came from the woods and sat next to me and licked my tears. After that, he was mine and I knew he was a special dog and an angel sent from heaven. He is a handful, but  I wouldn't change him for the world.

Could someone take pity on this lost monk and tell me why JSM is begging for banning?  heheheeeeeeeeeee!!    

i responded to ya in Caylee's thread.  if she was pimpin the baby out she wouldn't say if anyone was there...'cause she knew if that got out....  buttt as much as i could agree, i don't know what happened....

 

Thanks!  I just replied to you over there.     Gosh, if she was doing that, or anything else, it would likely still come back on her, no matter who else may have been involved.

Yes you are right Mama. I so needed him at the time and he came through. So when his was hurt and sick, I missed him so. He is feeling better the Benadryl must be kicking in, if he wants to sleep on the bathroom floor, that is where I will be too. Not on the hard floor, I will put blankets and pillows down for me, he can sleep on the hard floor.

WASHINGTON -- Top Republican senators said on Monday they were troubled by Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to begin a new criminal probe of past interrogation tactics used by the CIA during President George W. Bush's war on terror, and expressed concern it could hamper U.S. intelligence efforts.

A newly declassified version of a CIA report revealed Monday that CIA interrogators once allegedly threatened to kill the Sept. 11 attack mastermind's children and suggested another would be forced to watch his mother sexually assaulted.

The fresh crop of damaging revelations only intensified the long-running political fight about the secret interrogation program -- whether it protected the United States then, and whether spilling its secrets now will weaken the nation's future security.
