Tevye - earlier you were talking about Liver.  Other than the fact that I LOVE liver with gravy and onions and bacon and mashed potatoes with fresh garden carrots in butter, wondering if you are eating it to get your iron up in your blood?  If that is why, there is a easier way if you do not like liver - Black strap molasses.  1Tbsp in a glass of water and drink.  My mom has been doing it for years and her doc told her it was the best way for woman to ensure they are not anemic.  It is also a good way to get iron into kids who will not touch liver.
Rose, thanks for that! I have two kinds of molasses in my baking cupboard...but I don't think either one is blackstrap. They are just dark and light I think. but I will start that regime tomorrow morning.

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Services for Sen. Edward Kennedy will be Saturday morning at a Boston church before his burial in Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, his office announced Wednesday.

Sen. Ted Kennedy's funeral is scheduled for Saturday in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Mission Church.

President Obama, who called Kennedy an "extraordinary leader," will deliver a eulogy at the funeral, according to several sources.

Did the Tedster serve in the military? If not, I vote on keeping him out of Arlington. That place is for hero warriorers, not manwhores.

From the article, I see that Teddy did in fact serve in the military (51-53) and as a senator is eligeble (whatev!) for an Arlington burial. He'll be buried close to Bobby and Jack, so I'll have to remember to avoid his site the next time I'm in DC. Can ya tell I didn't care for the man?

Tevye - this is for you.  I think of you during the verse:

I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies

Styx trivia: many moons ago, they were the opening act for Kiss in our little town. They rocked the house so well they blew the sound system and Kiss had to be escorted out of the building BEFORE the management told us the concert was cancelled. I spent the Styx portion on my then boyfriend (now hubby)'s shoulders..oh those were the days of being skinny!

At 2:29, when the guitar starts ripping, the lights came up and the little blonde guy was up on top of these huge speakers! It was very very cool!! (we were easily awed back in the day!)

Thanks, Rose, I'll watch them in the am. Gotta get to bed, it's jail day tomorrow and I have to tell my "boss" about all this health bs. Cancer is so darn inconvenient, ya know? It's eating up time I'd rather spend doing anything else (but mostly just monkeying around!!!! )

Take care and rest well.  You know I have been through it twice with Hubby  so if you want to vent I have a shoulder that has heard lots and listens well.

I have meet the teacher and school class list tomorrow with the youngest.  Daughter does not go back till Friday.  She is thrilled I am dragging her with us rather than leaving her at home alone....go figure.

The oldest drove down for another concert tonight, this time AC/DC.  He is with two of his friends that were with him at the Big Valley Concert when the freak storm hit.  He sent me a text that there is a bad thunderstorm, downpours, hail, and tons of lightening tonight.  The concert is outside in a football stadium.  What are the chances that something bad happens when AC/C rips into Thunderstruck?

Oh I am not going to sleep until I hear the concert went fine and they are in their hotel room safe .

Battle Brews Over Abortion in Health Care Fight
Abortion opponents say they will be satisfied only if a health bill specifically bans all abortion coverage in any federally subsidized plan.

Wall Street Journal

FOXNews.com

Thursday, August 27, 2009
Anti-abortion groups are gearing up for a battle in the fall over health-care legislation, another headache for Democrats who already face concerns about the measure's cost and reach.

Most versions of the Democratic health plan would create subsidies for lower-income people to buy private health insurance. If that insurance includes coverage for abortion, as many existing private plans do, it effectively means federal taxpayers are subsidizing abortion, critics of the legislation argue.

While it gets less attention than some other parts of the plan, abortion has often been raised by critics at town-hall meetings during the August congressional recess.
