Been enjoying you post this morning.  ::MonkeyCheer4::We are all doing fine. Things are settling down slowly but surely. How are you doing? 

Internet seems to have stabilized though no issue has been solved.  Getting ready for the younger ones to go back to school, one starts tonight with view class lists and meet the teacher, other starts Friday.  Other than that pretty well, just busy trying to get my garden slowly dealt with before I have to go back to work and the snow flies.
Anyone want some potatoes?  I planted 156 hills this year and have a really good crop.

I have a question for JSM. I told you my daughter went to the doctor with a sore throat. The doctor told her that if she hadn't come in when she did, in a couple days she would have been in the hospital, I thought there was just fluid in her ear draining, but there is a big pus something or other in her throat. The medicine he gave her AZITHROMYCIN 500mg sounds really scarey to me. It has already helped her, but the warning about diarreha for months after and that the pill stays in the system for quite sometime. Do you know anything about this drug? I can't imagine having diarreha for months after taking the pill, and of course she is already experiencing that fine development. I don't know what it is with my kids and sore throats 

  Yes that is a side affect of many antibiotics. Because it is killing a bacteria, it kills the good bacteria in your gut too. I had that unfortunate experience for what seemed like an eternity when I was on antibiotics for my abscessed tooth. Tell her to stock up on Imodium.

As the state finances in California crumble, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is holding a "car boot" sale on eBay to try to get some more money into the coffers. Cars and motorbikes are among the 6,000 plus items to be auctioned over the weekend.

The sale began last week and has already had some success.

One purchaser bought a 2001 Ford Focus station wagon - complete with the Governor's signature - for more than £1m.

But there are other, smaller items on offer too.

Driver, 83, Chases DUI Suspect Across 2 States to Help Police Catch Him
Thursday, August 27, 2009 

 

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. —  An 83-year-old driver chased a pickup truck for 15 miles from New York into Connecticut, helping police catch the drunken driving suspect who had rear-ended his car.

The incident last weekend started on Interstate 684 in Southeast, N.Y.

Frank Canale of Scarsdale, N.Y., pursued the man all the way to his driveway in Danbury, Conn., and stayed there until police arrived. He says he feared the man could kill someone.

His daughter, Lori Canale-Smith of Pleasantville, called police on her cell phone during the chase.

By the time they finished filing police reports in two states, the pair missed the wedding they were heading to when the accident happened.

Police say the truck's driver was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license.
