I look and feel like I have been plowing a field, it is so hot outside

Send that weather my way.   We're heading to the beach next weekend and I want hot weather so I can swim.
Gladly, if you send me cool and rain.
Send me cool and rain too Sassy.

Internet seems to have stabilized though no issue has been solved.  Getting ready for the younger ones to go back to school, one starts tonight with view class lists and meet the teacher, other starts Friday.  Other than that pretty well, just busy trying to get my garden slowly dealt with before I have to go back to work and the snow flies.
Anyone want some potatoes?  I planted 156 hills this year and have a really good crop.

Wow.  That's a lot of potatoes.    We call them "new potatoes" here in Maryland - the ones you get right out of the ground.  Yummy.   As a kid, my grandparents always had huge gardens and we would have bushels of potatoes in our garage, covered with a blanket.  They would last us (family of Cool all winter.

My Mom still has a root cellar and a huge bin in there for potatoes in her basement.  There are going to be more than the bin can handle this year.  We had a bad year for potatoes last year and ended up using up the ones I grew by Nov.  My Mom asked me to plant more this year so I listened.  My kids love eating fresh garden potatoes with chives and dill and butter mashed in.  They are not so good at helping dig them up.

Yum.   I like potatoes like that, too.    I miss being able to have a garden (although mine were always small) because I live in a townhouse now and don't have an area for it.

You can do container gardening.  Add some pansies, nasturtiums or other edible flowers and you have flowers and harvest.

I got a call from my dad this morning.   My brother is going to one of the big medical centers in Washington DC tomorrow for his heart.  So far, they believe he has 2 blockages - but they are doing the exploratory tomorrow to see how bad things really are and if he just needs stints.   He has diabetes and his kidneys are in bad shape.   The doctors told him he can't work ever again, which is tough because he is a workaholic.   He needs prayers.   I guess my whole family needs prayers as we are all a big dysfunctional group, to be honest.   Some of us haven't talked to others in years.     I'm a nervous wreck and feel so sick inside.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks my Monkey Friends.   I appreciate all the prayers and support.    an angelic monkey

I will probably know tomorrow afternoon if they are going to do a bypass.   His health is so bad that they might not do it.
I went through this two years ago with my dad - he had all five valves replaced.   He was 80 years old and did fine.   Of course, my dad was in pretty good shape at the time,  non-smoker and no other medical problems.

Northern Rose -  I have a garden window in my kitchen - but it is full of bamboo.     We had tomatoe plants on my deck last year - but they didn't do very well.  Only got a couple of tomatoes from them.       So now we just go to a roadside stand and buy someone else's wonderful produce.

Prayers to your brother Sassycat.  Hoping he gets great care as there are many specialists out there that do great work.  My dad had kidney failure as a result of diabetes.  Make sure he has a renal specialist & endocrinologist on his team.  Prayers to you as well as a family situation such as this is very stressful.

Trimm I just read all of it. I thought that perhaps Jaycee just came forward now, I didn't realize she was still with her kidnappers, this is a very scary and interesting situation. I'm so happy for her family, but at the same time so confused, I have to go read more, and I wonder how many other young girls this couple kidnapped?
