That story is sooooo sad Northern!  When I heard about the passport thingy all I saw was $$$$ because if eveyone who traveled to & from Canada, would mean big bucks for U.S.  Then they said after 9/11 that terrorists were coming in thru the Canadian border... well you know much more than I ever will...I've heard lots of stories of Americans smuggling ciggies thru Detroit/Windsor area, but that was a long time ago.

I just pulled up the SM website, only to realize I never logged out yesterday.  Have no idea if I was sitting in the rafters here or in musings or one of the other threads, but if it was in here, please know I wasn't stalking anyone.

I keep hoping the illegals will return home,since the economy is suffering.

Me to Trimm, me too.  I'm not buying what they're selling regarding the illegals.  I remember Ellis Island and protocal to becoming a citizen.  They don't want to be citizens, they just want $$$$.  Do we have Canadian illegals?  No offense to anyone, I'm just wonderin'.

Speaking of Canadians, missing Northern Rose, I hope all is well.

Hi Lovin - I am sure and know for a fact you have at least one illegal Canadian - she is my SIL's nutso niece and lives somewhere in WI with a her internet BF and his strange band of merry men. I am sure there are many  more.   We have illegal American's and Mexicans as well.  The Mexicans are really miffed now that they need a Visa to get into Canada.

All is well, just crazy busy, work, kids, hubby, house, yard.

Good to see you NorthernRose.I was thinking about homemade cinnamon buns...mmmmm

Lovin I don't know more than anyone else.  I know about this as oldest son was planning a road trip with his frat buddies down to CA around the time this was being implemented and in teh news daily and we had spent hours figuring out what they needed to not get arrested at the border and be able to visit their frat down there.

Trimm I would make them for you in a heartbeat if you were close.  Please look after yourself.  I was in the garden last night picking beans and then freezing them.  Even though we had such a late summer and very little rain it has been a bumper crop.  This was the second picking and I now have 62 bags of beans in my freezer.  They are still blooming so might get one more picking.  I wish I could get one tomato to ripen.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
