Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin defended her claim that the Democratic health care proposal would create “death panels” in a statement Wednesday night slamming President Barack Obama.

I just wish with this health care reform we would at least have the representatives that we put in office read it before they speak and do townhall meetings. It would also help, you have one doctor on saying this, and then another doctor on saying that, and an average citizen doesn't know what is truth or lies, it is frustrating.

A funny thing happened while I was in St. Louis over the weekend.  I'll explain it but first I have to set it up properly.  After I left St. Louis I received an email from a representative of a labor union, SEIU, the Service Employees International Union.  The email decried violence which occurred at a town hall meeting Saturday night in St. Louis on the subject of the proposed health care legislation.  It blamed the violence, something about a Rabbi being assaulted, on the people protesting the health care legislation.  Now this is what was the funny thing.  I was exiting the Presidential Casino about 10:45 AM on Sunday morning when about six people wearing orange teeshirts which indicated by the logo that they were members of SEIU were also exiting the casino.  They boarded a shuttle bus from the Lumiere Hotel and Casino, one of the most expensive of the hotel casinos in St. Louis.   I responded to the email from the union by reporting what I saw and asking if they had imported their members to St. Louis for the meeting and did they put them up at the Lumiere.  I have so far not received a reply, nor do I expect to.  However, after returning home I learned that one of the people opposing the legislation had been assaulted and had to go to the hospital to be treated.  He claimed that the police stood by and did nothing.  I can't prove that the union had imported thugs to intimidate the people attending the town hall meeting, but if they were local people, why were they boarding a shuttle bus to go to the Lumiere?  I don't know but I certainly have my suspicions.

Speaking about Catholic School, I remember in 8th grade, Sister Gilbertine, who looked just like a frog in a nun's habit  was giving what they called sex education to us kids. My favorite statement of all times was when she stood at the podium and said, "We should not have sexual relations before marriage, because then when you get married there will be nothing to do." I obviously didn't listen to that little piece of advice  Also if our skirts appeared to short the nuns would measure how short the skirt was above the knees. My thought was if you can't wear your skirt short then, when you still have legs to look at, what's the point, wait until you are older when your legs don't look so good?
