I use to have great penmanship, now I deliberately don't because of all the pressure and fear of punishment in school
i always ends up that way lol...so much for beating it into you
Good evening how is your finger?
still attached thank goodness! it broke open at work yesterday and i had to leave early (customers don't like it when you bleed on them )
so i went to walgreens and they had the super duper first aid kit on sale and i got it for $10!  i also bought some finger condoms, sorry...finger Cots..so my digit will stay protected while i'm working....
Better News!
Babycrazy passes her karate test today and she is now a yellow belt! an angelic monkey
Glad your finger is still attached.  an angelic monkey     Babycrazy

  So that is why they wear jumpers now? Too Funny Tevye. You girls are the reason poor little girls today now have to wear the ugly jumper instead of the plaid skirt and button down shirt.

Mothers everywhere buying uniforms are cursing your name because the jumpers and blouse cost more than the skirt and blouse.  Monkey Devil!

PS hope you are having a good day! JSM

i

LOL! Yes, we decided that just cos we were good Catholic school girls and had to wear saddle shoes (no sh!t, and this was the 60's even!) and knee socks, the boys thought short skirts were hot. so, we obliged.

Hey, JSM, can you have Klaas send me your email? I'm getting close to making a decision, and you did offer input. And the topic may be a little er...gross or touchy for the board in general. (to boob or not to boob, that is the question! )
i wore saddle shoes to the first day of school in fifth grade...had to of been '88 or '89..if i could find a big girl pair i would buy them in a heart beat....i still think they're COOL!

I wanted to share this with you monkeys.A friend gave me this poem many years ago.I carry it with me along with a couple of photos.   an angelic monkey

YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW....

There are two days in every week
about which we should not worry,
Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension.

One of these days is YESTERDAY,
With its mistakes and cares,
Its faults and blunders,
Its aches and pains.
YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY.
We cannot undo a single act we performed;
We cannot erase a single word we said.
YESTERDAY is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW
With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise.
TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control.

TOMORROW, the sun will rise,
Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds,
But it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW
For it is as yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - TODAY.
Any man can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities
- YESTERDAY and TOMORROW -
That we break down.

It is not the experience of TODAY that drives men mad.
It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY
And the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.

Let us, therefore, live but ONE day at a time.

Author Unknown

We all feel down sometimes;
Like the pressures of the world are closing in on us.
Once in awhile, we need to be reminded...
That everyone in the world suffers
from the heartbreaks and disillusions of life...
Pass this poem on to someone you care about;
Let them know that you share their hurts,
And that they're not alone.

Good Night Monkeys.   an angelic monkey

Saddle shoes. I wanted a pair in 6th grade, my mom said sure. She went to the department store in town and came home with a pair. I was all excited until I opened the box. They looked like orthopedic saddle shoes, big and chunky    One time I wanted a pair of white go go boots  my mom said okay, she went to the department store and she bought me a pair of white rubber boots with a zipper down the back with white fur around the top.  Oh well, I wasn't popular anyway

I got a pair of red white and blue GoGo boots when I was probably 4 or 5 years old for Christmas.
