Well, I took Charlie out at 10 instead of 11.  So, at 4:30 he starts kissing me in the face so I took him out then. Then at 7:30 he started it again.  He didn't do anything this time, just sniffed around to see if other animals had been there overnight.  Then, at 8:30 He decided it was time for us to get up.

You know, I wouldn't put up with this from a husband.

I don't know if Charlie does this, but Zoe can literally stand in one place and sniff a bush or a blade of grass to the point of insanity. I've never seen a dog like her before that does this, when we take a walk, we really don't walk, we stop and sniff constantly. We call her Sherlock Holmes, the way she examines every little thing  The other day at a fire hydrant she sniffed the whole thing, I don't think she missed one spot of it.

She was just checking her PEE MAIL Rose.

I have been very busy in real life but wanted to let you all know that I read when I can and I miss you when I can't.  Trimm, you and your friends have been in my thoughts and prayers so often.  When I was in high school, I had a friend that killed himself over speeding tickets.  Such a tragedy.  I hope your friends can find peace in time and I think they are very lucky to have you and your family in their lives.  I don't have many real life friends, my family is my life.  I haven't worked in years and my best friend passed away years ago.  I wish I had someone like you in my life.  Tevye, your bravery amazes me, I try to laugh along with you but have to admit that I am just not as brave as you.  I am praying for you.  To all monkeys that have asked for my prayers, be assured they have been given. 

To all the monkeys that have asked about my daughter, everything is going fine for now.  She is still going with the 2vbac and God willing that is what is going to happen.  Her due date is Sept 1st but she is hoping for earlier.  She was hoping to move before the new baby, so I got a late start on sewing for her nursery.  That is what is keeping me away from my monkeys...but I have to admit, I am loving doing it.  She used all store bought Classic Winnie the Pooh for the first two and she is going with a vintage Apple Hill nursery by OshKosh Baby, we have been lucky enough to get most of the items off of EBay and I am making wall decor and curtains and pillows and such.  If I ever figure out how to show pictures here, I will show you all, the finished room.

I hope it is ok to post this here and in Musings, I get so confused between the two.  Who asked me what and who said what and where, lol.  Just know that wherever my monkeys are, I treasure you and miss you.  Hope to be done sewing soon.

Who knew someone would actually have an ipod on sale? (shhhh...don't tell hubby), and a case for it that was PINK?! Pink not because of the bc, but because we finally got a granddaughter last year, I decided I really do like pink! Pink mouse, pink case for my MacBook...pink almost anything. So. long story short, not only can I listen to music on this thing I can watch Dr. Who and whatever else on it! Think it's gonna be a tech day...busy my mind to not miss the little dude.

Sounds great Tevye.Don't you love all the gadgets they make these days?I love to listen to music while I am on the treadmill.
You know I never played videos games or used any of these gadgets till my grandson wanted to learn.We learn together.    They are so funny.
I would love to have a colored notebook.     I have a gateway laptop that my brother left me,and his gateway desk top.I don't know a whole lot,but I can post on a forum.

Hey Magic.I don't have many close friends since I quit work.
We may be in your computer,but believe me we are real.  I love my monkey friends.
Things are going about as well as can be expected with my friend and her family today.I'm keeping an eye out for them.   
I can't wait to see what all you have sewn.I can sew a little,but usually get my machine out in the winter while hubby is hunting.

The United States is facing a major sugar shortage, according to the Wall Street Journal (subscription may be required).

On Aug. 5, General Mills, Hershey Co, Mars Inc., and Kraft Foods alerted Thomas J. Vilsak, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, of their combined forecast of low sugar supplies. These food companies warned that if the Agriculture Department does not allow them to import more tariff-free sugar, "our nation will virtually run out of sugar" and they will be forced to raise consumer prices and lay off workers.

This comes as a major eye opener, but there's more to this finding.

The WSJ states that the present trade quota places a limit to the number of tariff-free sugar that can be imported per year, with the exception of Mexico. This leaves major suppliers like Brazil out of the free trade mix. The fear looms that Brazil may not even have significant sugar supply for the U.S. because they are busy using large amounts of cane crop for ethanol use.
Another problem is the U.S. government; not a surprise. The U.S. artificially inflates domestic prices of sugar in order to support the incomes of farmers in the Midwest who are friendly with politicians who help them. Anything for a vote, right?

Economists state that sugar is part of the equation. Sugar is an active ingredient in almost all foods, and the impact of a price increase will be big. Food companies pay twice the world level for sugar because of government meddling.

Unless politicians in Washington decide to ease import quotas, the "U.S. will end the next fiscal year with less than 13 days worth of sugar on hand" according to the four food companies who band together to ring the alarm atop Capitol hill.


NoRose,we better get to Walmart and buy all the twinkies and buddy bars we can carry.   

  Goverment meddling? Who would have thought. H*ll we are going to be like North Korea with people starving if the goverment keeps this up.

Menagerie Of Animals Found With 2 Bodies
'Unknown Number Of Monkeys' Found In Par St. Home, Police Say

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Police found the bodies of two people and dozens of live animals inside an Orlando home on Saturday.

The Orlando Police Department responded to 303 W. Par St. to check on the well-being of the residents at about 1:30 p.m.

At about 1:30 PM OPD responded to 303 W. Par St reference check the well being of the residents.

When officers arrived they found two people dead inside -- an elderly man and woman. They also found several exotic animals, including monkeys, birds, dogs and cats.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, along with Animal Control, is assisting with the animals.

OPD Investigations was at the scene, along with the Crime Scene Unit.

A medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death of the two residents.

The names of the deceased are not being released at this time.

   Don't you know the animals are freaked out.

Such is life in the Big Apple when you mess with the wrong business owner. You get a nice heaping helping of buckshot in the mouth. 

Oh well.
"I'd do it again if I had to."

Those were the first defiant words out of no-nonsense businessman Charles Augusto Jr.'s mouth yesterday as he came back to work less than 24 hours after opening fire with his trusty shotgun on four robbers -- killing two of them.

The four men had picked the wrong shop -- and the wrong man -- to mess with. And they would have known it had they read the prophetic words from Dante's "Divine Comedy" written in marker above the door: "Abandon all hope all ye who enter here."

The thugs entered a world of hurt when they barged into Augusto's Harlem restaurant-supply shop, Kaplan Bros. Blue Flame Corp., Thursday afternoon, pulling out a 9mm pistol and pistol-whipping an employee as they demanded cash.

"I told them there wasn't any money. 'Take your gun, put it in your pocket, and go home.' They had a chance to leave," Augusto said.

But they didn't listen.

So Augusto, 72 -- known to most as "Gus" -- channeled his inner Dirty Harry and pulled out the Remington shotgun he had hidden under his desk for 20 years. He opened fire three times, peppering all four men with buckshot.

"I did what I had to do," he said. "It wasn't my choice; it was their choice."

The wounded men tried to run but didn't make it far.

The man armed with the pistol, 29-year-old James Morgan -- who had a long rap sheet with nine prior arrests -- took the first shot directly to his face and made it only as far as the shop door before crumpling dead to the ground.

A second man, Raylin Footman, 21 -- who had a prior arrest for robbery and a relative who was a cop -- made it across 125th Street before collapsing. He'd died by the time he was taken to a hospital.
I wonder how long it will take community organizer AL Sharpton to show up and protest this man saving his own life?

Augusto's employee who was pistol-whipped showed little sympathy for the dead thieves.
But Augusto's beaten employee -- who would only give his name as J.B. -- had little sympathy.

"S- - - went real bad for them, not for me," he said. "I'm breathing. They dead."
Someone with misplaced sympathies also did not endear themselves to J.B.
Augusto and his employees tried to get back to business as usual yesterday, although it wasn't easy. When a woman came to place a candle outside the shop, J.B. angrily kicked it across the pavement.

"Who's this for?" he demanded of the startled woman. "For the guy who died? F- - - him!"

I was just out walking digger and almost stepped on another snake.     
He was big black snake but Digger tried to attack it when I scream and jumped..that was probably a sight enough to scare him......hubby just killed it.
Watch out around headges and stuff.     I gotta have a beer.

Thanks Trimm. I hate snakes, we have water moccasins near the creek. It is funny you mentioned this. I saw three little girls yesterday walking in the ground cover barefoot. I told them don't walk in there because Josef was bitten by a snake in that ground cover. They are about 8 or 9, laughed like they are invincible.

Wow, I just got back from shopping, Home Depot, JoAnnes and grocery    Magic so glad everything is going good with your daughter and with your sewing. June Lockhart looks great love Lassie  JSM when I walk around the neighborhood the smell that comes from some of the places  I wouldn't eat it if starvation set in. It can be awful I'm sure. Trimm, we got those snakes here, scare the daylight out of me, Zoe is terrified of snakes  There was a lady in JoAnnes with a service dog, on her vest the dog was wearing it said, don't ask me any questions. I'm going to make me one of those vests, but mine is going to say, leave me the he!! alone 

No Rose, it is horrible here today. I guess I need to run my kitchen fan on Saturdays. It looks like church with all the candles that are going in my apartment. You can buy service dog vests off the internet. One of the girls at the pet lodge has one for her dog. I think I will get Josef one too!
