A US fashion designer has been sentenced to 59 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting aspiring models he lured to Los Angeles.

Superior Court Judge David Wesley on Monday sentenced 35-year-old Anand Jon Alexander, who was convicted in November 2008 of 14 counts including forcible rape.

He was found not guilty of four felonies, and jurors could not reach a verdict on three counts.

His victims, some of whom spoke at the hearing, ranged in age from 14 to 21.

Prosecutors said Alexander often found women online, baited them with promises of glamorous photo shoots and other modelling work, only to fondle or rape them at his Beverly Hills apartment.

The designer has been featured on the television show America's Next Top Model.

Brandi, thanks@! How'd you know I was thinking that Bob needed to get out of his Easter clothes? He's such a slob, and I've been so busy. Thanks for thinking of me. Fall is my favorite season (except for Christmas!), so Bob looks great.

As for me, I'm doing ok. I've decided to redirect my fear of cancer to a fear of failing a class, so it's 11:30 pm, and I'm writing one kick-ass paper that's due tomorrow. And then tomorrow, I will write another paper that's due Wednesday. Oh, these papers have to be at least 10 pages long, with bibliographies and very little humour. Groan! But hey, coffee after 9 at nite is fun!!!!!

WASHINGTON -- Recent town-hall uproars weren't just about health care. They were also eruptions of concern that the government is taking on too much at once.

That suggests trouble for the president and his party, and fears of losses in next year's midterm election are likely to shape the Democrats' fall agenda.

At August's town-hall meetings, voters often started with complaints about health care, only to shift to frustrations about all the other things President Barack Obama and the Democrats have done or tried to do since January. The $787 billion economic-stimulus package, the government-led rescue of General Motors Corp. and climate-change legislation all came in for criticism.

"A lot of the anxiety we face here has less to do with health care and everything to do with the overall state of the economy and government," said Rep. Anthony Weiner, a New York Democrat.

Oh Blumonkey, thanks so much for saying this is a bright spot to visit and saying I am graceful. I did set a goal and acheived it, now I am just waiting on the next competition. Hopefully I can skate against someone to see if really I can win. I am competitive in a way. You are so sweet for what you said about people loving me, I love all monkeys too.
