Yes it was nice of her, but she had to tell me I wouldn't be sick if I didn't smoke. 

Hey, be sure and tell her about the people you know who smoke who also got cancer....and have perfect lungs! That would be me. but wait to tell her till after she gives you the food!

FYI Monkeys, my guy bff is a teacher and I asked him if they are showing obama's speech tomorrow.

He said NO, they got an email from the principal that said it will be discussed with the social studies teachers and if they see fit, they can show it in the classes, but it will NOT be shown in every class tomorrow!!!!

Defying Critics, Obama Names Another Czar After Resignation of Environmental Adviser
President Obama's announcement of his selection of Ron Bloom as "manufacturing czar" follows the weekend resignation of Van Jones, the White House "green jobs czar" who had come under fire in recent weeks for past inflammatory statements.

Republicans had been calling for Jones to resign and raising concerns about all the czars Obama has appointed --which by some accounts amount to more than 30.

Dana Perino, a White House spokeswoman for the Bush administration, told FOX News that presidents like to appoint czars because it can be hard to get political appointees confirmed by an increasingly partisan Congress.

"They have skirted around that process so there is no accountability for the czars," she said Monday. "Nobody has to go up and testify in front of Congress. They don't have to go through the process."

Bloom has already sidestepped congressional approval. He was senior adviser to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner as part of the auto industry task force since February. Bloom, a Harvard Business School graduate, previously advised the United Steelworkers union and worked as an investment banker.

Bloom will work with the National Economic Council to lead policy development and planning for Obama's work to revitalize U.S. manufacturing, the White House said.

Perino said she doesn't object to the White House focusing on revitalizing the battered manufacturing industry.

Happy Lemon Festival!  Today in Italy is the Lemon Festival.  Don't have citrus trees up here but if I did not sure I would waste them on a citrus house. It is lovely though.

Good Afternoon. 

Seems like I always get here with nobody home. I see TEVYE up in the rafters, and I hope you are doing better and milking it for all it's worth!

I read back with all the projects everyone seems  to be having, and I am glad JSM is not eating another 7-11 sandwich for Labor Day, but having some Chinese food instead. We are going to try to grill hamburgers but I'm not sure the weather is going to co-operate. We may just cook them on the George Foreman in that case. We had a huge booming thunderstorm during the night, and woke everybody up. It's still pretty wet outside.

I just listened to O's Labor Day speech at the AFL-CIO down in Cincinnati. Now I am "fired up!" He was preaching to the choir with his audience and they were eating it up. He reminded me of Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro banging the podium and "firing up" the crowd of supporters that were probably required to attend per their labor unions.

Well, anyhow, Happy Labor Day.

I did, and they were beautiful! I saw those huge carrots too. I have loved every one of ours this year, as we finally had a bumper crop. Maybe yelling at them was a good idea after all.

LOL! I just came back to let ya'll know I got an A in the class that I handed in my paper 6 wks late for (  ) and saw these!@ Stop, you're making my stitches hurt!

Hey, can DH and I come over later for BLTs? Our dog would love your carrots (for some reason, our dogs dig the carrots out of the garden and eat them...since the old one passed this spring, I'm not sure the young one is still digging them, but he does eat them:)

Rose, I found a place to get all the seasons of the good doctor really cheap! Now to load onto the ipod! I'd love to have the classic Tardis in my backyard!!!!
