One thing the investigation shows is that the Brits didn't detect the radiation in the first place.

What does that mean for any other type of low level radiation devices that might be smuggled in?

Guess it's good that they can follow the radiation trail to help solve the spy's death, but it sure don't look good for security of keeping out the bad stuff.

Another possible Russian poisoning.

Doctors treating former Russian Prime Minister Yegor Gaidar, who fell ill in Ireland last week, believe he was poisoned, an aide said Thursday.

Interpol recruited for Litvinenko poisoning case
By Moscow correspondent Emma Griffiths

Interpol has been drafted in to help coordinate the investigation into the murder of the former Russian spy exiled in London, Alexander Litvinenko.

The Russian branch of the international police organisation, Interpol, has begun exchanging information on the case.

The investigation has so far pulled in detectives and witnesses in three countries - Britain, Russia and Germany.

Some of the men who met Mr Litvinenko on the day be became ill travelled to London from Moscow and Hamburg.

Mr Litvinenko was poisoned in London with the rare radioactive substance, polonium 210.

Radiation traces have been found on British Airways planes that travelled between Britain and Moscow.

Several sites in London and Hamburg were also contaminated.

I know it's been brought up before, but why can't we get Interpol involved in the Holloway Case?  Is it any less sinister?  I don't think so.

The assassination of former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was shrouded in mystery. Six years on, his widow is still waiting for answers

Saturday 28 April 2012

Last month Marina Litvinenko went to the Russian embassy, not far from her home in south-west London, to vote against Vladimir Putin.

It was the first time she'd exercised that right since she and her late husband claimed political asylum in the UK 12 years ago. She knew full well that Putin would be re-elected president, but she was inspired to participate by the tens of thousands of protesters who took to the streets of Moscow in the lead-up to the ballot. In the opposition movement, she says, "I see Sasha. I know how passionate he would have been about it, and how helpful his knowledge could have been."
