Guess it started with the post about names ending in 'O', and it escalated from there.  Can't help myself, cuz, I'm my Dad's 1st daughter and was raised very well.  Love him and know how blanket comments affected him when his mind was in full tilt.  Can't teach an old dog new tricks is another thing I learned along the way.

Should say good night and hope tomorrow brings many good things for Natalee's family and for all who check in here.

My maiden name ends with an 'A' by the way, and have relations with 'I', 'O', 'E' and probably 'U'.... Wink

OK you win, I quit.

Yeah right, Anita,

Couldn't say a word about the case ... except for
the brief time you told him to ZIP UP his mouth
and wait for Mr. Antonio Carlo to give J
the green light.

So that way J  doesn't say anything damaging to about P..
(save your dad's bacon?)

(and Joran's bacon, as well.)

Doesn't this speak volumes?   OK - if they were so innocent, wrongly accused, what in the world could Joran say that would be damaging to Paulus?  Give me a break.  They all make me want to puke.

And since when should a suspect be able to make conditions that would allow another suspect to go free?  Oh - I forgot, we don't know their system.

BTW - Good morning monkeys.... Working and lurking... and going back to catch up.

He was so totally communicating with his mother, his father,
and the lawyers... that it's PATHETIC.

His mother is a liar too!

--------

more-

--------

6/24/2005 Joran ALE Statement

- that he would only answer new questions asked by investigators

- that his lawyer had advised him only to make statements in his presence

- that his lawyer had started a lawsuit so that he would only make a statement with the lawyer present

- that he wouldn't come with us today because his mother would be visiting him at 14.00 hours that day

- that if he gets a visit from his mother he would discuss making another statement with her

- that only if his father, by way of his lawyer would say he should make a statement he would do so

- that he was waiting for the statement of his father and after that make another statement.

Of this, we, the reporting officers, on our oath of office, have made this proces-verbaal, closed and signed in Oranjestad on June 24th 2005.

The reporting officers,

Carpe ~ that should be pointed out to De Vries.

I hope we are not depending on him too much, but seems there are a shortage of good-guys in this tragedy.

Thursday, June 23, 2005- On the Record
ANITA VAN DER SLOOT: So I spoke with him (Joran) about these things and just told him to stay strong and to tell the truth.
--
On June 24th 2005, at approximately 10.00 hours,
There we, the reporting officers, were informed the suspect J.A.P. van der SLOOT refused to go with us...  that his mother and his lawyer had advised him on behalf of his father to not make any more statements and to invoke his right to not make statements.

From today's Amigoe:

ORANJESTAD – From documents that Amigoe has received it appears that Aruba has requested the Court of First Instance to attach the proceeds from sale of the buildings in which the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is established.  This is an amount of 420 million florins.

The buildings were sold for 237 million dollars last week to a Caribbean investor in real estate.  The petition is dated November 24th, but has been submitted before that date, because it mentions the urgent reason for the sale of the buildings.

In the petition is stated that there is a dispute between the Aruban and Dutch government about the division of the proceeds.  The shares of the owners of the Marriott hotel, Plant NV are in hands of the Dutch Participation company for the Neth.Antilles (NPMNA) that is being managed by the Dutch Investment Bank.  Aruba says that the NPMNA has only received the shares temporarily, as guaranty for a Dutch loan of 55 million dollars.

At that time, the government was in urgent need of money due to unfinished hotel constructions and hotel guarantees that were concluded in the eighties and had asked the Netherlands for financial support in accordance with the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands.  The then minister for Aruban and Antillean Affairs Ernst Hirsch Ballin (CDA) loaned Aruba 55 million dollars via NPMNA under the condition that the shares are placed with NPMNA.    This is the reason for the dispute now.

Is it today or tomorrow that the Antillies Justice system will be having their regularly scheduled 'flat tire'?

November 29, 2006 -- A Dutch reporter investigating the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba claims a lawyer representing the first suspect in the case once paid a visit to the lead prosecutor "to clear his conscience."

At the meeting, lawyer Antonio Carlo allegedly told prosecutor Karin Janssen that he knew Joran van der Sloot played a role in the teen's disappearance, but that it was up to the police to "get the full proof," Peter de Vries told Greta von Susteren Monday on Fox News' "On the Record."

When Janssen wrote to Carlo asking for more details, she got a letter back from the "scared" attorney saying "you misunderstood me," de Vries said.

Van der Sloot's current attorney, Joseph Tacopina, yesterday dismissed de Vries' report as "utter bull- - - -. He's trying to cash in on the tragedy to publicize a documentary he made in Holland."

FOX - ANITA - GRETA 6/23/2005

cont'd

And yesterday, he got transported to the Kia, the correction institute, Kia — that's how we call the prison here — and I could visit him a little bit longer. My husband, Paul, gets no access to him at all, and they refuse his lawyer to get any access to him during interrogation. He could tell me a little bit about his interrogations that were really, really tough. A lot of pressure on him, extreme pressure.

This is the kind of pressure Joran experienced in jail:

How can the Kalpoe brothers be released as suspects when the Dutch
team hasn't finished their investigation?  I thought that suspects in criminal cases in Aruba, remained as such for two years after their arrest.
Under what special circumstances do the Kalpoe's expect they have a chance that the court will rule in their favour?  The only correct judgment is to deny the motion.

I agree with you Leslie but have we seen anything that is normal in this case.  Aruba wants to close the case and they don't seem to care about the laws.  I think there are a lot of people on edge in Aruba and it all stems from the corruption and coverup in the case.  Whether it is two years or tomorrow the Kalpoes will be released no matter what.

I can't believe I am spending my second Christmas with you guys.  I love you all, but I would be happier if Natalee was home with her family.

Me too, Lala's, me too.

It's been a year since the doctor told me I have ovarian cancer.  Time has zoomed by for me.  It breaks my heart to think of Natalee's family being without her.
