Baez cleared of ethics charges?  Bah!   Every time something appears to go his way, he acts so pleased with himself.  He's going to burst with smugness if he doesn't watch out.    He was only cleared of the D. Casey ones, anyway.  Bring on the Judge's complaint!
And when are we going to hear about the check fraud case?  I'm getting a little antsy here.
(I think we need a finger drumming monkey to indicate impatience.)
Hi neighbor!  And don't forget the little switcheroo with the agreements with TP, LP, Tracy and Rob.  Blink has said many times on her site that could be huge and I respect her opinion.

Florida Bar clears Jose Baez of ethics charges
By Sarah Lundy and Willoughby Mariano

Sentinel Staff Writers

11:45 PM EDT, August 31, 2009

The Florida Bar has cleared José Baez, Casey Anthony's defense attorney, of ethics allegations made by a private investigator who worked on the case, according to documents obtained Monday by the Orlando Sentinel.

Members of the Bar's Grievance Committee found "insufficient evidence" that Baez did anything wrong, according to a letter from the Bar.

Dominic Casey, the investigator, alerted the Bar about two issues involving Baez, who represents Anthony in the murder case that arose from the disappearance last summer of her daughter, Caylee Marie.

One issue concerned a discussion the investigator said he had with Baez about doing something other than calling 911 if he found the missing toddler.

Caylee Marie disappeared in mid-June 2008. Her body was found in December in woods less than a mile from her home. Dominic Casey looked in those woods several weeks before she was discovered.

The Bar committee reviewed documents and interviewed Baez and others.

The attorney told the Bar that he did not recall the conversation and he would never instruct Casey to walk away and call him if the private investigator found the child, according to the Bar letter.

Casey also raised another issue dealing with payment for his services. Baez advised the Bar that he would review appropriate invoices and discuss them with the investigator.

Baez said Monday that he was pleased with how the investigation ended.

"I think we've had plenty of unsubstantiated accusations in this case," Baez said. "And it only motivates me to fight harder."

Anthony, 23, is awaiting trial on a first-degree murder charge in the death of her daughter.

DCasey probably isn't too happy about Bozo being cleared.    He still hasn't gotten paid.   And probably won't.

***************************

well than i guess D Casey will have to find a way on the stand when he testifies to mention that bozo didnt want him calling 911...it may be striken from the record, but once he says it its out there.....let the jurors decide. Is bozo even going to be able to say anything during the trial since he is not DP qualified

That's a good question.   Anyone know?

A death penalty qualified attorney must be present in the courtroom.  I do believe he can try the case as long as lyin' is sitting there.  I doubt she will sit, and think they will divide up the work - giving biasbutt the easier stuff.
Here is a link to support she must only be present.

No problem.  I think I heard this discussed on one of the talking head shows to, back when DP was first added.  I took it he just will not be declared the lead attorney, but can be part of the 'team' still.

Brandi made it for me, weeks ago and I was holding off on it till she got the fall ones done - I am jumping for joy over the new look! LOL

Sooooooooooooooooooo..I wonder if BOZO ever produced the 'originals' of the privacy agreements he says LP, TP, and crew signed?  If he didn't and I think he didn't I would think Strickland would be pretty pizzed. I wonder if there are more complaints going to the Bar about this? It seems to me each of them as well as the Judge and the prosecution could all lodge complaints against him. Your thoughts???

(snipped):

Although Baez has been cleared on Casey's complaint, there is still an open bar complaint against the attorney.

The complaint involves Baez's relationship with his former spokesman, a man known as Todd Black, who sent out press releases on Baez's behalf. Black was later discovered to be a convicted felon.

It is not clear when the investigation into that complaint will be complete.

Good question Sunny.  I think we are all asking the same thing.

Casey Anthony: Bar clears Jose Baez of ethics allegations
posted by halboedeker on Sep 1, 2009 12:22:56 PM

The Florida Bar has cleared Casey Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez of two ethics complaints, TV stations reported at noon today.

One allegation involved private investigator Dominic Casey, who claimed that Baez had told him not to call 911 if he found Caylee Anthony's remains, WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Vanessa Echols reported. Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee, her daughter.

Another issue focused on payments from the defense team, WFTV said. "The Bar says there was insufficient evidence for both claims," Echols said.(The Sentinel reported that Dominic Casey had "raised another issue dealing with payment for his services.")

WFTV said Baez was cleared of all allegations of ethics violations. But WKMG-Channel 6's Mike DeForest reported there is another complaint against Baez about the attorney's relationship with his former public-relations person. That person went by the name Todd Black, but was actually a convicted felon, DeForest said.

DeForest said the Bar's decision was "very good news" for the defense.

"As a defense attorney representing a high-profile client, you're going to take some attacks," DeForest said. "He's been able to shrug them off. So far, every Bar complaint filed against him in this matter has been cleared."

Baez Beats Bar

What happened to Judge Stan Strickland’s involvement in the complaint? Beats me. Wasn’t he supposed to be in on it? I guess it goes to show you that you can’t always believe what you hear in the media because his name was not mentioned by the Bar.

Jose Baez Cleared Of Alleged Ethics Violations

Posted: 11:28 am EDT September 1, 2009Updated: 1:36 pm EDT September 1, 2009
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News learned Tuesday that the Florida Bar has cleared Casey Anthony's defense attorney, Jose Baez, of allegations of ethics violations. The investigation began in April.

The allegations involved private investigator Dominic Casey. He's the man who was recorded in the area where Caylee's remains were discovered months before they were found on December 11
Dominic Casey claimed attorney Jose Baez told him not to call 911 if he found Caylee's remains. Also, there was an issue about payments from the defense team.

The Bar says there was insufficient evidence for both claims.

Inmate Writes Letter To Judge In Casey Case
Posted: 2:16 pm EDT September 1, 2009
Updated: 3:45 pm EDT September 1, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An inmate who had already mailed a letter to the clerk of courts claiming he knew who killed Caylee Anthony also sent a letter to a judge involved in the case (read letter).

http://www.wftv.com/pdf/20669845/detail.html
http://www.wftv.com/pdf/20533041/detail.html

The letter, like the previous one (read previous letter), claims that the inmate, Jerry Jackson, is "a very close friend" of the person who killed Caylee Anthony.

"I do not know if Ms. Anthony (sic) played a part in the murder but the person who did kill her daughter is a ex-boyfriend of hers," Jackson wrote in the letter Eyewitness News obtained Tuesday.

It was addressed to "Judge Evans," who is likely Judge Robert Evans. Evans is the judge who signed a court order to obtain Casey's cell phone records.

Jerry Jackson is a 21-year-old inmate (see mug) behind bars since 2004 on a 30-year sentence for crimes committed in 2002, including sexual battery with a weapon, armed burglary and kidnapping.

The previous letter, written on July 22, 2009 and addressed to "whom ever is representing Ms. Anthony," suggests that Jackson knows who killed Caylee Anthony and claims it was not Casey. The letter was mailed to the Clerk of Courts and added to the Casey file.

"I happen to know for a fact who killed her in which who is not Casey Anthony," Jackson wrote in the letter. "The person that killed her was a guy whose name I will not reveal at this time."

Jackson wrote, if no one responded by August 15, he'd take the information to his grave. Jackson has received mental health treatment and has told Eyewitness News in the past he's committed unsolved crimes that police say is not true.

Jail officials said Jackson never told anyone at Union Correctional Prison in Raiford, Fla. that he had the information and neither law enforcement involved in case nor Casey's defense has visited him.

In April 2006, a then 18-year-old Jackson claimed in a letter written from behind bars that he kidnapped missing 13-year-old Ashani Creighton and killed her. However, his claims were dismissed amid a history of mental illness.
