So are they going to say Caylee's hair was dyed?  Could be why Cindy asked some strange question to Casey about the last time at the beauty shop, or something like that, during a jail house visit

************************
no i bet they are going to say that it isnt Caylees hair at all, that its Caseys since she dyed her hair and that strand they found with the death band was really Caseys. I hope if Strickland does do a bench trial that he slaps her with at least one felony, i mean werent there at least 7 charges, surely he wouldnt let her off all of them
Gottcha, that of course makes sense, more sense then where I was going with the hair, thanks. I hope he slaps her hard also, if it ends up a bench trial, which it probably will, because the defense was whinning about sitting a jury.

or she pleads guilty and they ask for time served.....if that was agreed upon I would be soooooo pizzed!!

Good catch Sunny in Tx  !!

Casey replied that no one other than herself took care of Caylee's hair IIRC.
Cindy also asked KC who colored her hair and the answer was no-one......   IIRC.  That was on one of the jail tapes.

Thanks Western, odd question at the time, or was it?

Could have colored Caylee's hair as part of her cover up/kidnapping story to mask any scientific testing? Didn't she watch CSI?
  Good possibility, very good.

Jesse I think that is UP TO 5 years. And on this she has no previous record (that is always taken into consideration) and JS is handling this and he seems to bend way over to the  side of the defense when he can....I think it's referred to as CYA

***************************
oh, well even if she got one year for every count, still 7years or so. I just want her to have a felony, which is what bozo is trying to fight against

Judge Makes Ruling On Casey Trial Date
Anthony's Check Fraud Case Will Be Tried Before Murder Case

POSTED: Thursday, September 3, 2009
UPDATED: 1:07 pm EDT September 3, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony will face trial on check fraud charges “in the near future” -- long before her capital murder trial in the death of her daughter, an Orange-Osceola Circuit Court judge ruled in an order released Thursday.
Judge Stan Strickland granted the state’s motion to set the check fraud case for trial before the murder trial, which is expected to begin next summer.

Strickland said in his three-page order that he “cannot justify making the victim wait even longer to have this matter resolved."

The victim, Anthony’s former friend Amy Huizenga, argued in an affidavit that the matter has caused her a great deal of mental stress, great embarrassment and fears it will hurt her chances for gainful employment -- arguments Strickland said he found “compelling.”

Anthony’s defense team argued the check fraud case would divert attention and resources being paid to prepare for the complex capital case. They also claimed jury selection in the case would be protracted because of Anthony’s notoriety among potential jurors.

While Strickland said he agreed with the last point, he added, “that is not sufficient reason to delay this matter until after the murder trial. … The Court feels the best resolution is to set the matter for trial in the near future. … Therefore, in the coming days the court will set (the check case) for pretrial and trial.”

In a statement to Local 6, the defense team said the ruling was “disappointing. All our resources need to be focused on defending Casey Anthony from the State's determination to seek the death penalty.”

Anthony is charged with 13 felony counts stemming from her allegedly forging and passing checks on July 10 and 15, 2008, after Huizenga left her check book in a car she let Casey use while Huizenga was on vacation in Puerto Rico that month.
The maximum penalty for each third-degree felony is up to five years in prison.

Anthony is also charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. Caylee was 2 when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in a wooded area off Suburban Drive in east Orlando in December.

Good morning Monkeys!

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/orl-bk-casey-anthony-court-090309,0,5656942.story

Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland ruled Wednesday that Casey Anthony's check-fraud case will be set for trial in the near future.

State prosecutors had requested that a trial date be set for that case as soon as possible. But Casey Anthony's defense argued that preparing for the check-fraud case would hamper her legal team's ability to prepare for her murder trial.

In support of its motion, the state offered an affidavit from Amy Huizenga, Casey Anthony's friend and victim in the check fraud case. Strickland wrote in his order that he found Huizenga's affidavit "compelling."

"The affidavit states that the duration of this legal process over the last year has caused her a great deal of mental stress," Strickland wrote.

"After considering all of the factors and argument of counsel, this Court feels that the best resolution is to set the matter for trial in the near future," Strickland wrote. "In terms of legal skill and analysis, this case is rather simple."

He noted few witnesses will be called during trial, and excluding jury selection, should not take more than a day or two.

"This Court cannot justify making the victim wait even longer to have this matter resolved," Strickland wrote. "Therefore, in the coming days the Court will set this matter for pretrial and trial."

I am probably wrong but am going to through this out anyway....hell I have been wrong before and will be again!  However, I thought when an out of state attorney was approved to practice in another state is was for one trial.....one case.....if this is true wouldn't lyons have to get approved to represent kc in the fraud case??

I do not know.I am in hair world.

    Hair World!!!

Sunny, That sounds right to me, but I'm hoping one of our smart Monkeys will give us the scoop on this.
Since the two cases somewhat overlap (in my mind) I guess she may be on the look out for anything in the check fraud that would have an affect on the murder trial?  Just a guess from me.

I am not a smart monkey, but I think she would have to submit a pro hac vice request for the civil case and notice of qualifications.  She has been granted pro hac vice in the capital case only, as far as I have heard.

That's what I thought and wondered why JS didn't mention that to her when she was flapping her mouth about taking time away from the murder case to work on the fraud case.

I knew you were gonna male me go to  the darn law dictionary!!

pro hac vice
(proh-hock-vee-chay) Latin meaning "for this one particular occasion." The phrase usually refers to an out-of-state lawyer who has been granted special permission to participate in a particular case, even though the lawyer is not licensed to practice in the state where the case is being tried.

Cindy was still in full 'find the Nanny mode' at the time and I could not see the relevance when she asked KC who cut/did Caylee's hair, and then asked who colored her hair- , but just from the pensive look on Cindy's face when she asked it I knew there was something.... now we see what she was trying to find out and why.......
I have watched numerous pathologists explain the death band and never heard one of them mentioned that the findings were variable with the color of the hair. They all sound like If it is there, it is diagnostic..... period.

It's so lame that Daez claims he doesn't have time for the fraud case as Amy/the State's case is pretty much open & shut.

No, they are going to claim that it was not even Caylee's hair, but  KC's and that what the prosecution/Body Farm are claiming is a death band is actually the effect of coloring on KC's hair..
