 Casey Anthony Faces Fraud Trail First, Then Murder

ORLANDO -- Casey Anthony’s defense team learns Casey's check fraud trial will not be put on hold until her murder trial was over.

Orange County Judge Stan Strickland ruled Thursday Casey will have to face check fraud charges before her murder trial.

Her defense tried to fight the motion but prosecutors won the day by arguing the victim wanted swift justice.

Legal experts said something else may be at work.

To win a death penalty case, prosecutors need aggravating circumstances, one of which is a previous felony.

"They want to do it so they can have aggravating circumstances,” said Cheney Mason, a defense attorney. “If they get a conviction, they can pursue the death penalty. The statute requires the state proving aggravating circumstances."
Anthony is accused of stealing more than $700 from her friend and spending it at a local Target.

Prosecutors are set to release more evidence in their murder case against Casey Anthony.

Prosecutors are scheduled to release the evidence Friday morning. Last week they released more than 2,000 pages of investigative documents and pictures to the defense team.

More evidence in Casey Anthony case to be released
The State Attorney's Office will make more evidence public in the case against Casey Anthony.

The State Attorney's Office will make more evidence public this morning in the case against Casey Anthony.

Three hours of audio and video recordings, as well as photos will be made available around 8:30 a.m. today.

Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony. The 2-year-old's remains were found several months after her mother reported her missing. She is currently in the Orange County Jail awaiting trial.

The newly released information will include California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla's recorded statements. Padilla paid the $500,000 bail to get Casey Anthony out of jail last summer.

He once told the media he'd get Casey Anthony to talk to him about Caylee's whereabouts after she gets a hot shower and a chance to "paint her nails."

Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland ruled Wednesday that Casey Anthony's check-fraud case will be set for trial in the near future.
State prosecutors had requested that a trial date be set for that case as soon as possible. But Casey Anthony's defense argued that preparing for the check-fraud case would hamper her legal team's ability to prepare for her murder trial.

The date for the check fraud case has not yet been set.

Hey Seeme!  I've learned all kinds of things from this case.  Terpines come from resins of the pine conifer family. Elementary Forensic science (your lips are different from anyone else's in the world, your fingerprints are actually different on each hand and even from finger to finger with five patterns, every brand of ink pen is a unique composition of colors making forgery easily detectable, etc.).  Now, I know more than I ever wanted to know about duct tape.  LOL!
A quiz show had the question "What type of tree is turpentine made from?" and I immediately yelled out Pine trees and started laughing (to confused stares).  I have so much to thank my Scared Monkey friends for!

There's a resemblance there too. Every time I see Lie-on and with her hair pins I immediately think of witch hazel. I think I watched too many cartoons. I keep expecting her hair pins to come flying behind her when she moves.
