Why were you finger painting the dog?     

Weeeelllll, it starts like this....

The most common thing people ask me when they see Cyrus is "Does he have a saddle?".  And yesterday a friend of mine was cleaning their horse barn and found a child's pony saddle. And the pony saddle fits Cyrus. And Halloween is right around the corner. And just a regular pony seemed sorta dull, so I go the bright idea that I could make him a Carousel Pony. And the food-coloring finger-painting seemed like a good idea...

and, umm, yep, that's how I ended up with splotchy colored dog tonight.     

 

Gee............... I wanna live in your house! I usually have to drink to think like that!   

What kind of dog is Cyrus?

I can't wait to get the cookies started on the halloween cookies. But will have to wait until Wed. or so we are back to a heat wave and the thought of turning on the oven just makes me hot.

When did you slip in, GE? I'd welcome a heat wave! It's in the 50's here tonight, and right now that feels COLD!!

   The dog won't fit in a roasting pan will he?     

  Heck no! He wouldn't even fit in the OVEN itself. 

I thought that too, after remembering what he looks like!

No problem Deenie! Cyrus is a good sport Glad we could make you feel a bit better tonight.

Seriously CBB, yes, I do love my dog. But he's not the brightest crayon in the box. He couldn't care less if I dress him up or paint him with food coloring. It's all fun and games to him. He doesn't get embarrassed or self conscious.

And he doesn't care what the cats think.

Bec of one reason and only one - was because Brach is one of the bestest Doggie Moms -  that made me save this photo ..

He is a beautiful Boy that will be tinted for a long while in months to come 
Just think of it as going to the salon and  getting a bad dye job ... It will work its way out. Was fun in the moment and now its what it is .. No harm he will be okay.

It was in the high 90's today and suppose to stay there most of the week. I guess it's the last heat wave for the year. I know what you mean about 50 feeling cold. We had a couple mornings last week when it was down there and sitting on the porch in the morning waiting for the school bus to pick up the kids it was cold.

He's GORGEOUS!!!

He's a Great Dane. Actually, he's a mutant Great Dane. He's almost all white, just a few black spots. It's not a desirable trait because the color mutation coincides with health issues. Cyrus is deaf, has a tremor disorder, has a digestive disorder, etc.

I got him from a rescue and I love him to pieces, but he's not exactly a prime example of Great Danes.

Oh, don't you just hate that? Leaving the salon in tears is just the worst! Cyrus looks like he's a happy pooch! Or a cheerful pony.................

Brachicate  I don't know if this will help but when you give Cyrus his bath tomorrow try adding some Hydrogen Peroxide to his bath. I know when a friends dog gets tangled up with a skunk she uses it and it seems to make the dogs coats whiter. It won't hurt him. I bet he looks cute with all his colors.

Brach...do you have a groomer you could ask about the food coloring?  Seems they may know.
