The "JUDGE" is chewing on Mitnick. Where's SUNNY?????

I am here MADE AS A WET HEN!  I intend to write him a letter and tell him exactly what I think of him, his rulings, his frigging condescending attitude, making fun of KM's accent and his obvious bias!

I would like to see that!      Please tell us if he responds.

One thing to keep in mind though, in the case that absolutely matters ALL of these scumbuckets will get theirs & the prosecution will see to it.  DC won this round but he has far from escaped his stupidity...same will be true of George, Cindy, Lee & Bozo

Justice will prevail for Caylee

WOW!    This judge is about to throw this case out

I have to agree Capp..this judge is not going to hear this case ever.  He doesn't want the case and is very against having to try this case before Casey's DP trial.  So when push comes to shove..he's gonna toss it.

I really dislike this judge and find him creepy.  Meaning, I can't stand his soft voice...for some reason it reminds me of Lon Chaney  (for those old enough to remember him).  It sounds like the voice a serial sexual killer would have..just makes the hair at the back of my neck stand on end..like if I was in close proximity to him and he started with that whisperer voice ..I would be slowly backing away and then running like hell!

Of course this is just my humble opinion.

My gut tells me this judge does not want to jeopardize the criminal trial with the DP at play.. I still dont like him or his faux ruling

I used to think that .... I have my doubts about Rodriguez now.

Dont get me wrong, I think the judge is taking the easy way out, and Capp, I must have misheard the judge.. I thought he was dismissing it without predjudice.. or was that the questioning of DC?? These mo mo's have me all confused

It seems he already had his mind mad up before Mitnick could even ask a question.

Yes and they were laughing at the end.

I was watching Fox 35, and it cut off while they were up at the bar. Did any other video show it to the end. It looked like it was getting hot between Mitnick and Rodriguez.

Casey Anthony civil case: PI Dominic Casey testifies but George, Cindy Anthony don't have to answer questions

Lawyers representing a Central Florida woman in the defamation suit against Casey Anthony withdrew their request to force George Anthony and Cindy Anthony to answer questions they originally refused to address during a deposition.

Lawyer Keith Mitnik told Orange County Circuit Court Judge Jose Rodriguez he could obtain the information he needed from other resources, such as FBI interviews.

Mitnik also withdrew his request to ask the judge to force Casey Anthony to answers questions that had been submitted to her. He said he doesn't want that issue to keep the case from moving forward.

"Moving forward is too important," he said.

Mitnik represents Zenaida Gonzalez, a Kissimmee mother of six who claims her reputation was damaged by Anthony.

Gonzalez claims her reputation was hurt when Casey Anthony claimed a nanny by the name of Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez took her daughter.

Criminal investigators have said that there was never a nanny named Zenaida.

Gonzalez was not in court today. Also absent were George Anthony and Cindy Anthony.

Casey Anthony, 23, is accused of killing her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Marie, last year.

Since that initial discussion, the focus of today's hearing has been on private investigator Dominic Casey, who did not show up for an earlier deposition.

For more than half an hour this afternoon, Dominic Casey took the stand and answered questions from his lawyer, Diana Tennis, and then from Mitnik.

Casey said he considered his work for a joint family defense team comprised of George Anthony, Cindy Anthony, Casey Anthony and her defense lawyer Jose Baez, he said.

Dominic Casey was hired by the Baez Law Firm July 27. Mitnik asked if he was being paid by Baez. Dominic Casey said he doesn't think that question is "appropriate."

"I was to investigate the circumstance surrounding the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony," Dominic Casey said.

Dominic Casey initially told the Morgan and Morgan law firm that he was working for George and Cindy Anthony. His work should be considered as privileged.

Dominic Casey's attorney, Diana Tennis, argued that Dominic Casey was working the family, including Casey Anthony, and their attorneys -- not just Cindy and George Anthony.

"This was all a family coming together and getting lawyers on board and getting an investigator involved to deal with this tragedy," she said.

She said the attorneys really don't need depose Dominic Casey.

Mitnik said there are procedures to be followed. He wants witnesses like Dominic Casey to be told to show up for a deposition.

"Did you have any conversation with a psychic about the whereabouts of the body?" Mitnik asked.

Tennis objected and Rodriguez sustained.

"Did you speak to any third party who were not part of the group of privilege people?" Mitnik asked Casey.

"Yes," the private investigator said.

Earlier in court today, lawyer John Dill argued that Casey should show up for a deposition. If there are issues about the questions, that should be brought up during the sworn questioning. He can object to certain questions and that issue can be brought before the judge.

At one point, Gonzalez -- the one suing Casey Anthony -- was questioned and cleared. She is suing Casey Anthony for more than $15,000.

Caylee's remains were found in December in woods less than a mile from her family home in east Orange County. The state is seeking the death penalty.

A criminal trial is expected to begin next summer.

Check back for updates.

Gonzalez Drops Motion To Force Anthony Testimony

ORLANDO, Fla.--  The attorneys representing Zenaida Gonazalez have dropped their motion to compel George and Cindy Anthony to answer more questions in the defamation lawsuit against their daughter Casey.

Gonzalez's attorney, Keith Mitnik, said Wednesday that the information he needs from George and Cindy Anthony can already be found in the transcripts of FBI interviews and other evidence related to Casey's murder trial.

That's why Mitnik decided to stop pursuing the Anthonys.

That means the hearing will focus instead on the Anthony's private investigator, Dominic Casey. He failed to show up for his deposition in the civil case and Gonzalez's attorneys will ask that Dominic Casey be forced to answer questions.

Dominic Casey was called to the stand and is being questioned by an attorney for Gonzalez.

Zenaida Gonzalez is the woman who claims Anthony ruined her reputation by saying someone by the same name abducted Caylee.

George and Cindy Anthony became angry when they were questioned about Gonzalez at a deposition in April.

Attorneys for Gonzalez said Casey Anthony has never said publicly that their client didn't take Caylee, so they must look deeper to restore Gonzalez' good name.

"She is the only Zenaida Gonzalez that has ever been questioned by the police, the only Zenaida Gonzalez that ever lost her job, the only Zenaida Gonzalez that ever was kicked out of her place," Attorney John Morgan said.

Casey Anthony's attorneys were in court on Tuesday hoping to get the civil lawsuit delayed or dismissed. The judge hasn't ruled on the motion yet.

Wednesday's afternoon hearing is slated at the Orange County Courthouse.

Pour one for me. We need a monkey emoticon with a large glass of red wine.

A monkey with a bottle of tequila and a lemon to throw would be my choice.  DC was arrogant, his lawyer had to be reminded to "be nice" and the judge makes decisions before he has heard the actual objection. WTH!

The judge is referring to DC - but his warning to Mitnick that his decision regarding a stay or dismissal of the case coming sooner than he thought led me to believe he will throw the case out or stay it until after the murder trial BUT I totally disagree with how he insulted Keith Mitnic as well as made rulings that were NOT based on proof but rather opinion & not necessarily to the letter of the law

Zenaida Lawyers Withdraw Request
Casey Anthony Accused Of Defaming Woman Named Zenaida Gonzalez

POSTED: Wednesday, September 9, 2009
UPDATED: 4:54 pm EDT September 9, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. -- At a court hearing Wednesday afternoon in Casey Anthony's civil case, attorneys representing Zenaida Gonzalez withdrew their request to get Anthony's parents to answer questions.

Anthony, 23, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were discovered in December. Anthony, who has pleaded not guilty, told investigators that she left Caylee with a baby sitter named Zenaida Gonzalez, but they were gone when she returned to pick up her daughter.

A woman with the same name as the baby sitter, whom investigators have said does not exist, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Anthony, seeking $15,000 in damages because of the link to the case.

Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, refused to respond to several questions when deposed by Gonzalez's attorneys, who want a judge to force the Anthonys to answer the questions.

Gonzalez's attorneys said they can get information they were seeking from the Anthonys from other sources, such as police reports.
Gonzalez's attorneys have also withdrawn a written questionnaire to Casey Anthony, hoping the move will prevent the judge from delaying the civil case. The judge said at a hearing on Tuesday that it may be a month before he decides whether to postpone the civil case until the completion of Casey Anthony's murder trial, which is scheduled to begin next year.

Wednesday's hearing was dealing with whether private investigator Dominic Casey will have to give a deposition. Casey is fighting the issue, claiming that he was working on behalf of Casey Anthony and that his comments are protected by attorney-client privilege.

If a deposition is ordered, the judge may require it to be temporarily sealed so he can review any statements that may be privileged.
