IF IT WERE child porn there would have been an arrest!!!!

I realize that child porn possession is illegal but ... so is possession of illegal drugs and ... it does not appear there was any arrest.

Why would adult porn be seized during the search?

Thanks

I do have the search warrant and the receipts for items taken.

I am answering what I have permission to answer.

It seems to me they were searching for anything that might let them know if linsey had either been in the house at any time or anything to link someone there to lindsey.  Nothing out of the ordinary except for the swimming suit.  I'll see what else I can post.

the only drugs was a tiny bit of pot and a pipe.  big deal.

Family Says They Are Unfairly Targeted In McCleary Search
Posted: 4:29 pm PDT September 28, 2009
Updated: 7:40 pm PDT September 28, 2009

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- After two days of intense searching at a home and property outside McCleary, investigators said it appears they found no significant evidence that will help find 11-year-old Lindsey Baum.

The owner of the property told KIRO 7 reporter Richard Thompson that he’s contacted a lawyer about suing the police and the media, saying they had no right to put the family through the search.

Baum’s mother said she is disappointed that nothing was found relating to her daughter, who has been missing for three months.

"I was obviously really hoping something would come from the search," said Melissa Baum.

Law enforcement sources told KIRO 7 that among the evidence collected during the search were condoms and pornographic magazines. A car was also seized and will undergo further forensic testing.

The homeowner of the property said his family has been unfairly targeted in the search, "they didn't find anything here because we didn't do anything to that little girl."

Relatives confirm a man at the house was the focus of the investigation and search. One of his relatives said, "the only reason they were doing this search is, he gave a wrong answer to a question by a detective on the telephone."

Detectives insisted Monday they were acting on credible evidence when they got the search warrant for the property on Friday.

Lindsey's mother said she understands the family's frustration, but her daughter's life is at stake.

"If they end up being completely innocent, I'm sorry. But at the same time, my daughter is missing," she said.

Lindsey disappeared June 26 while walking home from a friend’s house.

Hi Mamacrazy,  And they took porn magazines - plural. That sounds like it was more than an oddity to have it there and maybe the reader had a habit or passion for it.   Just sayin'    Also if the mags were all displaying the same type of porn it would show a specific interest or pattern, which could be used in profiling.  And the most awful thought of all is they wanted to have it analyzed forensically for fingerprints and DNA from bodily fluids.  Just throwing it out there as everything needs to be considered.  xox    IMO

I have a little request.  Tonight I want to research any discussions about Lindsey's fear re the person in a white car following her and also that this same person approached one of her gf's and offered to let her drive the car if she wanted to.

If anyone knows where to find this quick-like I'd appreciate it.  xox

honestly imo they had to take something.  it would look pretty silly going after a search warrent and jumping through the hoops to come up empty handed.  that would pretty much say 'well we were duped.'

MCCLEARY, Wash. -- Frustration is boiling over in this small Western Washington town where a weekend search for Lindsay Baum failed to turn up a break in the case. And a local family says their son, who has received death threats, has unfairly become the town's scapegoat.

Three months have passed since Lindsay Baum disappeared. The search conducted last weekend kindled new hope, but also sparked a sense of vigilante justice.

For two days, sheriff's detectives and FBI agents swarmed over the 11-acre property of an extended local family just south of town. Deputies said the search did not turn up any key evidence linking the place with the girl's disappearance.

"They didn't find a smoking gun. There's nothing to say they didn't find clues," said Melissa Baum, the missing girl's mother. "I'm hoping they did find or at least gather some information that may help us find her."

The search may not have turned up any key evidence, but the owners of the searched property say they're still paying the price. They say the search left a cloud over their reputation, and has even prompted death threats against the family's 23-year-old son.

"I didn't even know who they were until Saturday," Melissa Baum said.

KOMO News has learned the young man was working at the Bee Hive Retirement Center at the time of the 11-year-old girl's disappearance. The girl was last seen in front of the center.

The man's family members and his next-door neighbor say he was at home when the girl vanished.

"That's terrible. That's how rumors start. That's how small towns are, though," said McCleary resident Mike Stoney. "You can get into a big area and you probably wouldn't hear anything like you're hearing now. Small towns are terrible for rumors."

Feeding the rumor mill are blog sites where local residents have engaged in non-stop chatter and speculations about Lindsay Baum's disappearance.

"I'm sure there's a small percentage in this community that are frustrated, that want this thing taken care of now and stop all of the melee, so to speak. But I think for a lot of us in the area here, too, we're just holding steadfast and hoping for the best," said Steve Saylor, another McCleary resident.

The sheriff's office will unseal the search warrants later this week, at which time the contents found during last week's search will be made public.

Porn can be in many forms from dvd's to pics to magazines. I am sure the cops didnt' take the time to look through and/or watch everything, so taking it in would seem normal.

As you all know, I am a mother to a child with a disability. I am proud of that fact! He is a wonderful boy, loving, sweet and my easiest one! Yep he is the easiest.

I didn't jump on what MM said because it seems to be an opinion that is just a part of society. Disabled child = hardship. Oh and disabled child= money and state funds! Oh how I wish that was true. I even get less child support for my son then my other children!

I also do not think she meant to have that come across as it did, or at least I hope not considering she is now a step mom to a child with a disability. I would think she meant, josh comes with a set of "problems" that are harder...although that is not my situation, for some families that it true. Please remember MM said that, not Melissa.

Whether this young man was working or was at home should be easy to verify.  However ... I am sure that the Beehive employs several workers so ... there has to be some collaborating evidence.

Something raised red flags and motivated the search this past weekend.

The search warrant documents will be released this week.  Maybe some light will be shed on the foundation.

Hey ... where is the Beehive located?
