Do we know if the suspects have always lived in the same home since the time of Jaycees abduction? If this couple are serial kidnappers/ killers they have a wide circle of pattern . I see he was paroled in 1988, where did that crime take place?

A man and his wife have denied abducting California woman Jaycee Lee Dugard when she was a child and holding her in their home for 18 years.

Phillip Garrido, 58, and his spouse Nancy, 54, denied 28 charges when they appeared briefly in court in Placerville, El Dorado County.

Ms Dugard was bundled into a car in the county in 1991 on her way to school.

Police are also searching the Garrido home in Antioch for clues to several prostitute murders in the 1990s.

Several bodies in the unsolved murders were dumped near an industrial park where Mr Garrido worked.

Ms Dugard and two children she bore in captivity in Antioch, 200 miles (320km) away from where she was abducted, were freed this week.

They are staying at a motel near San Francisco after being reunited with Ms Dugard's mother.

how old were my children.....

when the world goes out of alignment
and a sex offender kidnaps and keeps a child.

mere....you summed it up in a nut shell...all the questions that I had as well...so sad!

nosy person that I am, I think that I would have been looking through that fence trying to see what was going on over there..especially if I heard little children, knowing that my neighbor was a sex offender..but perhaps some folks just turn a blind eye to things that don't concern them? dunno....

Police to search Phillip Garrido's house for links to prostitute slayings

Police in Pittsburg, Calif., have obtained a warrant to search Phillip Garrido's house for evidence of possible links to a series of slayings of prostitutes in the 1990s, authorities said today.

Several bodies were found near an industrial site where Garrido allegedly worked, said Capt. Daniel Terry, member of a special investigative unit of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. Pittsburg police want to see if there is any connection between Garrido and the killings of the prostitutes, he said.

Garrido, a 58-year-old registered sex offender, and his wife, Nancy, were arrested Wednesday in the 1991 abduction of Jaycee Lee Dugard and are suspected of holding her captive in the backyard of their Antioch home ever since. Garrido is believed to have fathered two daughters with Dugard, who is now 29. The girls are 11 and 15.

Garrido served time in federal and Nevada prisons from 1977 to 1988 for a kidnapping and sexual assault he committed in November 1976, according to Suzanne Pardee, a spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Garrido was originally sentenced to 50 years in the case, Pardee said. He entered a federal prison in June, 1977, and was transferred to a Nevada state prison in Carson City in January 1988. He was paroled to California on Aug. 26, 1988.

Me too Cookie, I'm nosy and I would be looking and questioning. Some people just don't get involved for various reasons. But that one neighbor did, and the police came, and well nothing was done.

HIS home looked pretty tidy...new roof on the home, grass cut...but where Jaycee and her children lived, another community which was a pig sty! I notice that there was a trampoline and a swimming pool back where Jaycee lived..wonder if they had a television?
