LE says they have finished the search of the 2 property's, in the couple of pictures
I have seen the tents and sheds are still there. I know its a big job, but everything
in that backyard should be taken out and then dug up and dogs brought in. He lived
there a long time and they are still looking for 2 or 3 little girls that went missing
before Jaycee. I hope this isn't another 1/2 assed job like the parole board did.
I don't have a lot of faith in this search if it was not all cleared out. Is it just me???

If anybody could know the torment Jaycee Dugard endured during her 18 years in captivity it would be Shawn Hornbeck, 18, who spent four years and three months living in the one-bedroom apartment of his abductor.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Hornbeck, who – like Dugard – was abducted at the age of 11, shares his insight on life as a captive and what the road to recovery will be like for Jaycee.

• Why Jaycee never escaped:
"You're brainwashed. It's as simple as that. I know people use that term a lot, but that's what happens to you. It's like you are on autopilot, only someone else is controlling all the switches. They control every little, minute detail in your life. Everything."

• What Jaycee is going through now:
"She is in an absolute state of shock right now. Coming out of what she's had to endure is like entering a new world. It's like a door has opened for her and she's emerged from a world that's black and white into one that's full of color. I remember when I got out. All I wanted to do is be with my family. I didn't want to let them out of my sight. I was hungry just to be in their presence, starving for it."

• How Jaycee can heal:
"I realize this sounds like I'm stating the obvious, but you have to move on. You can't dwell on the past. You have to keep looking toward the future and telling yourself that it's going to be better than your past … I had a lot of built-up anger afterwards, which is normal. But this anger can take control of your life if you're not careful. You're angry about how unfair it is that this happened to you … Going to therapy really helped me get everything in order. One of the things that really helped me – and everyone is different – is that we talked about was how I could better myself from what happened to me, how could I use all those terrible, awful experiences I had to grow and mature. I know it sounds crazy, but those experiences have made me a better person."

Garrido Held Jaycee Prisoner while Husband was Jailed

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) If the cops have it right, Nancy Garrido was the babysitter from hell: part nursing aid who knew well how to care for the young and old, and part demon who could kidnap a young child, stand by while her husband raped her, and then make sure she didn't escape while her husband went back to jail on a parole violation.

It sounds crazy, but cops say the 54-year-old woman spent years caring for her elderly, bedridden mother-in-law while Jaycee Lee Dugard was allegedly held prisoner in her backyard.

In 1993, when her husband Phillip Garrido went to prison for six weeks on a parole violation, who watched over the 13-year-old Dugard? Authorities say it was Nancy Garrido, the former nursing assistant, who kept the young girl imprisoned in a series of tents and sheds in the Garrido's backyard.

"You can reasonably infer from the charging document that the wife was doing that," said former U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott, who is acting as a special spokesman for the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office.

Phillip Garrido Drugged and Raped 14-Year-Old Girl Long Before Jaycee Dugard, Say Cops

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Another allegation of sexual abuse emerged Thursday against kidnapping suspect Phillip Garrido, when Antioch police disclosed he was arrested nearly 40 years ago on suspicion of drugging and raping a 14-year-old girl.

Garrido was accused of sexually assaulting the girl at an Antioch motel in April 1972 after giving her barbiturates, Antioch police Lt. Leonard Orman said.

Garrido was set to be prosecuted in the case but the charges were dropped when the girl refused to testify, Orman said.

The girl and a friend met Garrido, then 21, and another man near the public library and joined them in a car, where they were given drugs, he said.

Details on the case were spotty because so much time had passed.

However, authorities recently reinterviewed the girl and were able to piece together that she awoke at the motel and was raped repeatedly before her parents found her, Orman said.

It was the third sexual assault linked to Garrido by authorities.

Garrido, 58, and his wife, 54-year-old Nancy Garrido, pleaded not guilty to 29 counts of kidnapping, rape and false imprisonment in the disappearance of Jaycee Dugard 18 years ago. Both suspects are being held without bail.

Susan Gellman, Phillip Garrido's public defender in El Dorado County, did not immediately return a call seeking comment on the 1972 case.

Orman said the chances of Garrido being charged again in the 1972 case were "very slim."

Police say the Garridos held Dugard captive in a backyard encampment of tents and sheds in Antioch, and Garrido fathered two children with Dugard.

He was previously convicted in the 1976 kidnapping of a casino worker in Reno, Nev., who said Garrido raped her in a storage locker before police found them. He spent about 11 years in federal prison and was paroled in 1988. Dugard was abducted in 1991 near her South Lake Tahoe home.

Earlier Thursday, Jaycee Dugard's aunt read a brief statement to reporters saying her niece remembers her family and is enjoying getting to know her younger sister, who was a baby when Dugard was kidnapped.

Tina Dugard spoke to reporters at the FBI's Los Angeles office, describing her niece's reunion with her mother and sister.

"The smile on my sister's face was as wide as the sea. Her oldest daughter is finally home," Tina Dugard said.

Tina Dugard said her niece's daughters appeared to be bright and educated, even though they did not attend school.

"Jaycee did a truly amazing job with the limited resources and education that she herself had, and we are so proud of her," Dugard said.

The family's location has been a closely guarded secret since the 29-year-old woman reappeared last week. She was 11 when she was allegedly kidnapped.

Tina Dugard said the family has been spending time in a secluded place, reconnecting and getting to know each other again.

"Not only have we laughed and cried together, but we've spent time sitting quietly, taking pleasure in each other's company," Dugard said.

Tina Dugard took no questions from reporters and did not comment on the investigation into her niece's abduction. A spokeswoman for the Dugard family, Erika Price Schulte, said they would have no further public comment for now.

The modest Riverside home of Jaycee Dugard's mother, Terry Probyn, was quiet on Thursday.

Neighbors strung pink ribbons around tree trunks up and down the street to show their support. They also spruced up Probyn's front lawn and lent a hand with gardening while she has been gone.

"When you close your doors, you have absolutely no idea the lives and struggles behind those doors," said neighbor Lisa Brown, who does not know Probyn but wanted to show her support.
Several neighbors said they didn't know about Probyn's past until media crews started showing up on the street. They said she moved into the house several months ago.

Posted on Sep 04, 2009 @ 04:43PM   print it send it Law enforcement authorities removed a filthy yellow van from the home where Jaycee Lee Duggard was held for 18 years as they continued to comb the crime scene for evidence.

RadarOnline.com was present as the van was pulled out of the back yard, covered in dirt and debris.

Police rejected the first tow truck that showed up and instead opted for a flatbed truck as they searched Phillip and Nancy Garrido's house of horrors.
