Mama - I hope things work out for the best for you and babycrazy.   I hope things look better today.

Tevye  -  Did you get your papers all written and turned in?   I hope you're feeling good and pain-free.    sunny

Trimm - How is your neighbor doing?   I'm still praying for that family.
Hey Sassy!
I got all but one paper done. I'm not sure if I care about that one. I mean, yeah, I"ll have it done one week late...but my "get up and write" isn't working so hot lately. Relatively pain free, still have this stupid drain in, I'm going to make them take it out tomorrow. Other than that, doing great! Life is still funny, hardly anything to cry about, and Northern Rose sent me on a beautiful road trip yesterday! It was great, all day long, when I was bored or needed a mind-break, I'd picture the road photo she posted and wondered how far down it I was.

so, in short, yeah, I'm still crazy, so it's all good!!

White House Dismisses Dowd Claim That Wilson Outburst Was Race-Based
Maureen Dowd writes in The New York Times that Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst Wednesday -- when he shouted, You lie," at the president for claiming his health care reform plan would not cover illegal immigrants -- convinced her that racial angst is the underlying motive among Obama critics like Wilson.

FOXNews.com
Sunday, September 13,
The White House on Sunday dismissed a claim by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd that administration critics like Rep. Joe Wilson, who called President Obama a liar during his health care address to Congress, are motivated by race.

Wilson, speaking on "FOX News Sunday," also denied the allegation.

"No, no," the South Carolina Republican said when asked if Obama's skin color was an issue for him. "Hey, I respect the president. ... I have a great respect for the Obama family."

Dowd wrote in her column that Wilson's outburst Wednesday -- when he shouted, You lie," at the president for claiming his health care reform plan would not cover illegal immigrants -- convinced her that racial angst is the underlying motive among Obama critics like Wilson.

"I've been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer ... had much to do with race," she wrote. "But Wilson's shocking disrespect for the office of the president -- no Democrat ever shouted 'liar' at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq -- convinced me: Some people just can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it."

Dowd wrote that Wilson "clearly did not like being lectured and even rebuked by the brainy black president presiding over the majestic chamber."

Asked about the claim, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said race is not the factor.

"I don't think the president believes that people are upset because of the color of his skin," he said on CNN's "State of the Union." "I think people are upset because on Monday we celebrate the anniversary of the Lehman Brothers collapse that caused a financial catastrophe unlike anything we've ever seen."

Dowd's charge of racism is hardly the first to be leveled against administration critics.

Most recently, Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., was quoted in early September saying that "bias" and "prejudice" are behind a lot of the public opposition to health care reform.

Filmmaker Demands Apology From ACORN for Claiming Undercover Video 'Doctored'
James O'Keefe and friend Hannah Giles posed as a pimp and prostitute looking to evade the IRS and apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel. The sting operation caught four ACORN workers in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., offices appearing to offer their help.

Sunday, September 13, 2009
The independent filmmaker whose hidden-camera videos prompted the firing of four ACORN workers is demanding an apology from ACORN for calling his work a fabricated "scam" and daring the activist group to take legal action against him.

"Bring it on," filmmaker James O'Keefe said Sunday on FOX News.

That was after ACORN lashed out at O'Keefe, who with his friend Hannah Giles posed as a pimp and prostitute looking to evade the IRS and apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel. The sting operation caught four ACORN workers in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., offices appearing to offer their help.

Those workers were subsequently fired, and the U.S. Census Bureau severed ties with ACORN in the wake of the controversy. But ACORN chief organizer Bertha Lewis issued a written statement Saturday saying that while she cannot defend the actions of the workers who were terminated, O'Keefe may have committed a "felony" with his operation. She also threatened legal action against FOX News, which aired the videos but did not produce them.

"It is clear that the videos are doctored, edited, and in no way the result of the fabricated story being portrayed by conservative activist 'filmmaker' O'Keefe and his partner in crime. And, in fact, a crime it was -- our lawyers believe a felony -- and we will be taking legal action against Fox and their co-conspirators," she said.

Speaking on FOX News, O'Keefe said he wants an apology from those media outlets "covering for ACORN" as well as from ACORN itself. He said he doubts ACORN will file suit.

"They don't have any leg to stand on, so they're saying I dubbed in my voice which is completely absurd," he said. "When the truth comes out in the end, they're going to be apologizing to us."

O'Keefe said he was "just trying to hold these organizations accountable."
Lewis said in her statement that O'Keefe's "scam" was attempted in several other cities but had "failed for months."

O'Keefe declined to comment on the allegedly unsuccessful attempts, but said it's a "lie" to claim that any ACORN offices "kicked us out."

I don't know and that's a good question. I did not vote for Obama, but I was sincerely touched by the fact we had come to the point that a black man could be overwhelmingly elected. I recognized the milestone, and it felt good.

I disagreed totally with the bailout strategy when Bush did it, and I'm not anti-Texan. I wanted McCain to oppose, and he didn't, Bush's bailout, and I'm not anti-veteran.

I totally disagree with the way Barney Frank threw attempts to regulate Fanny Mae under the bus, and I'm not anti gay.

Is this the way it's going to be? When people disagree with an issue, the media will make it a race issue?

Ann Coulter Hammers Geraldo "Racialist" Attack on Joe Wilson: "I Did Not Know I was Blasted into MSNBC" - Video 9/12/09
Here is video of Ann Coulter ripping Gerlado Rivera last night for suggesting GOP Rep. Joe Wilson's "You Lie" outburst during President Obama's Health Care Speech had "racialist undertone."

Coulter told Geraldo, "I thought I was on Geraldo. I did not know I was suddenly blasted into MSNBC where any opposition to Obama has to be racist."

I totally agree with the bolded statement!

As for playing the race card, it's a finely crafted art. No one wants to be accused of being a racist, so that pressure is applied to get people to do what you want. It's the same thing as grabbing someone's thumb and bending it backwards. It's dirty pool...but in today's world, it's often the first line of defense in an argument concerning Obama. It's purpose is to invalidate anything else the disagree-er has to say. It does show an amazing lack of intelligence on the accuser's part, however. Like, "is that all you got"? I despise people who play the race card, be they black or white or purple!

I'm getting more than a little tired of being called names like nazi, racist, and religious fanatic, because I have an opposing, pretty well informed, view of the policies currently being persued by the government.

They can bite me also. And one thing about playing the race card that really upset me. During the primaries Bill Clinton was gone after as being a racist for something he said. There are perhaps some unflattering things that could be said about Clinton, but being a racist is not one of them, at least that is how I feel.
