Why is it that when you get tests done or surgery they don't get right back at you with the results? I guess this just doesn't make sense to me, when my husband had those xrays on his lungs, we figured everything was okay, because we didn't get a call, and I told him to call, and it was like yeah, we found a mass  And four years later, we aren't sure what kind of mass they took out of his lung, it wasn't cancer, but he had the MRSA virus or infection. It's maddening, and to think the health care could get worse
They never told you what kind of mass he had. I would request his medical records No Rose just to keep handy just in case the physician purges his files after 7 years. JMO JSM

ITA No Rose - the thought that it could get worse is frightening.
I know, and the doctor we go to the wait in the waiting room is bad, I think that will get bad also. I try not to go to the doctor, because I'm scared. When I had a bout of irritable bowel that was so bad I had to go to the emergency room, and when they were done with me they suspected I had rectal cancer. After different tests, which were unbelievable in themselves  and being scared silly, I was constipated.  Even my husband said we are not going to the hospital again with this, we will take you to a gastro doctor before this happens again. And I won't even get into the mistakes and not following the doctor's orders on xrays for my husband's shoulder

The waits will get much much worse!  But No Rose don't be scared - go to the doctor if you think something is not right - I know it is scary but more times than not it is something that is better treated sooner than later before it has a chance to get worse.  Your husband is right about getting you to a specialist and that is the other thing that would be horrible with O'Bogus's health plan - we would prolly have to wait forever to see a specialist.

Thank-you, and I remember when the surgeon came out and talked to me, he acted like it was some bizarre thing he never saw before, and I was so nervous, and confused. And then my husband was all drugged out from whatever they gave him, and he was acting really strange

That is another thing, and right now they are saying they need primary care doctors and nurses. My daughter is in the nursing program and if they need nurses so darn bad, too bad they can't make it cheaper to become one

No Rose we are too much alike and share alot in common - my daughter is in her fourth year for nursing - she will graduate in May - it has been a long haul - it took her a year just to get in the RN program and you are so right - it isn't cheap!

Thank you - I am pretty excited for her    Yes the books alone are nuts and then they get nothing back when they return them - something like 10 dollars is all!

Me too. I feel the say way as you about waiting rooms. I have been in so many waiting for my hubby to have proceedures or surgeries, much less just multiple doctor visits, too many to count.

Now, I have to be half dead or dying before I will even go for myself. If you could go right in and not be tortured in the waiting room, it would be different. It's not the visit with the doctor I dread, it is the prolonged waits in the waiting room. Thankfully, our primary doctor is not so bad....the specialists are another subject.

TEVYE - found this on another site and thought of you.

Whether you are pushing 40, 50,
60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate.

Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.

In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans.. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag.

Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear
without turning around.

Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.

Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream,
"Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too."

Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we're sitting on our
biggest ones.

Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think: "For this I have stretch marks?"

In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.

Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally -- more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin .

Mid-life means that you become more reflective... You start pondering the "big" questions. What is life? Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice?

But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize
that breasts sag, hips expand and chins double, but our loved ones make the
journey worth while. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for
the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold
all the wisdom and love we've acquired. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to
it!

 Monkey Devil! Monkey Devil!

I've past the mid-life part. I now have all of the above and more.  Monkey Devil!

And then they put you in a room and say the doctor will be right with you. Right, I have waited and waited many times inside the examining rooms. One time I was really losing my temper, and stuck my head out, and they didn't even remember I was in the room

Hidden-camera video purports to show ACORN workers advising a woman posing as a prostitute and a reporter posing as her pimp about how they could lie to IRS and get housing assistance to run a brothel for the woman — and, 13 'very young girls' from El Salvador.  WTF is all I can say.
