What was Annie Le carrying in the last photo we see of her as she goes into the Lab?

In the news conference, they said they were still analyzing the security video and didn't know for sure.  I suspect paperwork.

A FOX 61 representative in Connecticut has been informed by the police, that the body of a Yale student, who had mysteriously disappeared,prior to her marriage, has been recovered on Saturday.

Annie Le, could not be located since Tuesday, September 8th. Even blood soaked clothings, which probably belong to the Annie Marie Le, were discovered from the building at 10 Amistad St. in New Haven. “Items that could potentially be evidence have been seized. We’re not in a position today to say whether this is a missing person case or whether criminality is involved,” FBI spokesman Kim Mertz told sources. It is pretty clear that there are enough loopholes in the case.

To aggravate the confusion, no suspects have been pointed out clearly, though the police did interrogate a professor on Friday, who canceled a class the pharmacology student was supposed to attend, the same time she went missing.The 24 year old doctoral student had her cell phone, and a few other belongings in her office, which the police laid their hands on suspiciously some days back.

Police are not overlooking the possibility that a the crime could be related to burglary, since the University’s molecular biology laboratory, which is in the same building her body was recovered, has expensive equipments. Also, since Le’s mother has a lucrative business in California, police suspect it could be a case of kidnapping.

Several surveillance footage are being meticulously observed to locate any strand of evidence.

A Yale spokesman Tom Conroy revealed to sources,”They are going frame by frame, looking at every image.”

Yesterday a rumor was out about a body but they said absolutly NO body found in the press conf yesterday.

I'd like to know who this professor is that they questioned. His abrupt canceling of class sounds very fishy to me. I also wonder if it was the ceiling in his classroom they found the bloody clothes.

It is sad and very sick!! She was in that building in a wall the whole time. Today was suppossed to be her wedding day. Just awful

NEW HAVEN — Human remains believed to be Annie Le were found Sunday in the Amistad Street building were the Yale grad student was last seen Tuesday, authorities said.

Tests are being performed on the remains, which were found inside a wall, authorities said last Sunday.

The search  Le had turned to a trash facility in Hartford, where towns and private haulers bring waste that is converted to electricity.

Investigators in white hazmat suits and neon green vests pored through trash inside the CRRA building, appearing outside occassionally holding shovels and rakes.

Paul Nonnenmacher, spokesman for the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority, said state police were at the site late Saturday until early Sunday before taking a two-hour break and resuming their search later Sunday.

Nonnenmacher said the material at the plant is about 2,500 to 3,000 tons worth of typical municipal trash, not medical waste.

In addition, two dumpsters from a Church Street South location were slated to be taken to the Hartford facility Sunday night under heavy security for investigators to search.

Nonnemacher said occassionally, people request to sift through garbage at the facility, but it’s usually for items of value that have mistakenly made into trash, such as a diamond ring.

"As far as I know, we’ve never had law enforcement doing anything like this before. We usually have instances of lost objects," Nonnenmacher said.

FBI agent Bill Reiner confirmed Sunday that investigators are "following the trash" that left the university laboratory in New Haven. He declined to comment further.

State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said his department is offering all the resources that could be required to the investigation, but deferred all comments to Yale University.

More than 100 officers from Yale, the FBI, state police and New Haven police, have been searching for Le since Tuesday evening when Le was reported missing by her roommate.

Nonnenmacher said the trash is shredded before it is incinerated and converted to steam for electricity. He said typically it takes from two to four days for material brought to the CRRA to go through this process, a week at the longest.

Yale has a number of private trash haulers with John’s Refuse of North Branford picking up material from the 10 Amistad St. site.

Employees of John’s Refuse were preparing to bring dumpsters to the CRRA location in Hartford Sunday night, something they don’t normally do, owner Andrew Bozzuto said. Typically, the trash business picks up garbage from different Yale locations each day to bring to the New Haven transfer station on Middletown Avenue, and Bozzuto said he was not sure of the exact schedule.

But Sunday afternoon, Yale officials asked the business to bring two dumpsters from a Church Street South location that is "in proximity to a location for evidence," said owner Andrew Bozzuto.

By 7 p.m., Yale officials had not yet given the go-ahead for John’s Refuse employees to bring the large dumpsters to Hartford and be escorted by police on the highway. But the sanitation workers were on-call and waiting to go, Bozzuto said.

"We’ve been working with them (police) all week on these kinds of things. We want to be a part of the solution," he said.

Bozzuto said it’s "possible" investigators will find whatever they are looking for and that "it’s not as ‘needle-in-the-haystack’ as you’d think."

New Haven spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga said that after trash is brought to the transfer station, other private haulers pick it up and deliver it either to a facility in Seneca, N.Y., or to Hartford’s CRRA. She said investigators spoke with city officials Saturday about the transfer process and that trash is usually sent out from the transfer station within a day. If anything was brought earlier last week, it will no longer be there, she said.

It is unknown exactly what investigators are looking for in the trash.

Investigators Saturday found blood-stained clothes in a drop ceiling at the Yale University laboratory at 10 Amistad St. where Annie Marie Le, 24, was last seen on Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement officials Sunday said those clothes are not the same items Le was seen wearing on Tuesday as she passed a security camera entering the building. They continued to test them and had not linked them to Le as of Sunday afternoon.

It could not be determined Sunday if the clothes Le was wearing Tuesday when she entered the building had been recovered from somewhere other than the ceiling.

On Sunday morning, a state police Major Crimes Squad van drove down a ramp into the basement area of the building where the lab is located, but officials had no comment.
