Judge: Hand Over Anthony Grand Jury Testimony

A judge ordered Tuesday (read order) that the grand jury testimony George Anthony gave in October 2008 be handed over to state prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony.

Prosecutors wanted a transcript of George Anthony's secret grand jury testimony given on October 14, 2008 that led to the first-degree murder indictment against his daughter Casey.

"... the original of said transcript shall be delivered to the State Attorney," Judge Stan Strickland wrote in the order issued Tuesday afternoon.

Prosecutors presented the grand jury case and George is working with the defense team, so both sides likely already know a lot about the testimony, which is supposed to be secret.

George Anthony appeared before a grand jury in October 2008, a day before his daughter, Casey Anthony, was arrested

The State Attorney's office will get a copy of George Anthony's testimony before a grand jury, a judge ruled today.

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland signed an order today that a transcript of Anthony's appearance before the grand jury -- an appearance that came a day before his daughter was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter -- be delivered to the State Attorney's office.

Prosecutors asked for a copy of the Anthony's testimony in preparation for Casey Anthony's murder trial, which is expected to begin next summer.

Casey Anthony is in the Orange County Jail awaiting trial. She is accused of causing the death of Caylee Marie Anthony, who went missing in July 2008 and whose remains were discovered in a wooded area less than a mile from the Anthonys' home in east Orange County.

George Anthony appeared before the grand jury on Oct. 14. Casey Anthony was arrested on the murder charge the next day.

Author Diane Fanning tirelessly recounts the young woman's lying ways, theorizes how Anthony might have disposed of her daughter and concludes that Anthony is "an individual whose self-absorption and insensitivity to others is a destructive force."

Fanning divides the book in parts -- The Disclosure, The Past, The Crime and The Discovery -- that are made up of short chapters. The Past notes that Cindy Anthony was nicknamed "The Princess" in her family. The book touches on the Anthony family's money problems, George's gambling and Cindy's realization she couldn't afford a divorce.

"Mommy's Little Girl" traces George and Cindy Anthony's media interviews and their support of Casey. Why the couple shifted, from desperately trying to find Caylee to backing their daughter as a perfect mom, will have to be explained in another book.

Fanning takes liberties -- writing about what people were thinking, theorizing what happened to Caylee. For the most part, she sticks closely to the documented record, and she brings the book back to Caylee, the victim "who mattered the most." She was a rambunctious child who could count to 45 in Spanish. And she's still the reason that this story matters.

I have never been in favor of plea deals [ frankly, a comparatively new practice in America's judicial history ] as plea deals subvert justice.

I agree. I really don't want to see a plea deal at all. If Bozo had bat brains and KC's best interest at heart, he would have had her done it long ago. Way, way too much water under the bridge now.

i dont think georgy will have to take another hotel venture, i think Cindy will kill him when she sees whats in there. As wasnt there some talk that Cindy thought george thru casey under the bus by doing that.

I have thought that GA wasn’t as forthcoming and helpful in his GJ testimony as he was made out to be.  But I am wondering if his GJ statements and LE interviews conflict then will he be crossed off the SA witness list since he will be a documented liar, again.

Maybe that is also the states strategy, get the GJ testimony and let it go out to the public to see what exactly the father of this murderous child said to them. Clearly it will again show what he says in private is NOT what he says on the tv circuit.

I have thought that GA wasn’t as forthcoming and helpful in his GJ testimony as he was made out to be.  But I am wondering if his GJ statements and LE interviews conflict then will he be crossed off the SA witness list since he will be a documented liar, again.

I absolutely believe they are focused on his deviations or inaccuracies. If that is correct, starting out as a perjuror is not a good idea.
