Hi Monkeys

Okay We made the witch fingers today. Followed the recipe to a T and they went flat.  ::MonkeyConfused::Not as bad as the sugar cookie ones. I told GS we would try it one more time this time with more flour in the dough.

What about wrapping them around pretzel rods?


 

About now I am ready to say I've wrapped them around something! Thanks Bearly.

Sometimes this happens if the dough is too warm,especially cookies that you roll or shape with your hands. The heat from your hands warms the butter and the cookies spread out too quickly and flatten. You can chill the dough for 30 minutes and then roll and bake.

Good Morning Monkeys


Thank you all for all your suggestions about the dang cookies. I went looking on line yesterday for recipes for the witches fingers. The one I had used regular sugar and baking soda. The ones I found on line used powered sugar, baking powder and more flour. Lower temps to cook and longer. Go figure. Hopefully they will work this time.

Hi Green Eyes,
I found that using Crisco shortening instead of butter kept Toll house cookies from flattening out.

Thank you!  My neighbor always has the roundest cookies and mine are nice and flat.     Now I know the secret!

She looks at all the avis when she's with me - and she luuvvs Betty Boop.  She wanted to decorate her bedroom at my house with BB, so one Christmas to start her a collection, I bought her a throw rug with a Western Betty Boop in jeans & circling a lariat, very hawt ... her dad took one look at the rug & went     So we had to switch to a horse theme
