I have never had a flu shot and am thinking about getting one, I would like your opinion on it ..... to get a flu shot or not?  The good or bad experiences you've had.

I have been getting the regular flu shot for about the last 10 years.  Since I've been getting the flu shot I've only gotten the flu once and I've not had pneumonia either.  Now I'm getting the flu shot and I had a pneumonia shot last year too.  I have never gotten sick from the regular flu shot.  I don't know much about the swine flu shots but if available, I will likely get that too.

Do you have to get the pneumonia shot every year? I had my first one last year.

No, I think the pneumonia shot is good for like 5 years.  I'll double check...hold on

http://coldflu.about.com/od/pneumonia/p/pneumoniashot.htm

Who Needs it and When?:

Anyone in the high risk category should have a pneumonia vaccine. Ask your doctor when the best time to be vaccinated is for you. Children under 2 should have a vaccination called Prevnar (PCV) four times before their 2nd birthday to prevent serious illness from pneumonia. Usually, only one dose of the vaccine is necessary for adults.
When is a Second Dose of Pneumonia Vaccine Necessary?:

    * A person over age 65 who had their first dose before age 65 and more than 5 years have passed since they received the vaccine.
    * Anyone with a damaged or no spleen.
    * Anyone with sickle cell disease or cancer.
    * Anyone with HIV.
    * Anyone with kidney failure or nephrotic syndrome.
    * Anyone who has had an organ or bone marrow transplant.
    * Anyone taking immuno-suppressing drugs (such as long-term steroids or chemotherapy).

Hey Magnolia!

Just wanted to say thanks for your post!  Even though it's not a good feeling at all; it's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling that way!

Falcon, the six year old missing boy thought to have gone up in a balloon was found at home in the garage attic, hiding in a cardboard box.

I like Mytime and wish her well.  She got angry with me via email and I guess she didn't like my answer, so along with some explatives she said "Ya know what, just ban me.  I don't give a...." , so I obliged.  Right now I can't trust her not to disrupt the forum, so she was banned.

Wyks he is such a beautiful baby.  I've left it as it is for now.  It isn't THAT big.  I've seen really, really big    Hopefully another mod or Klaas can come along and fix it.  Or as I noted in the other thread, I can remove it and you can try to repost it.
