Woman who dropped off letter with Haleigh Cummings tip comes forward

A woman Putnam County deputies wanted to speak with in connection with a tip about the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings came forward Friday.

Earlier this week the woman dropped off a letter about the child, who vanished from her father's Satsuma home in February, at the St. Augustine Record Wednesday afternoon.

The newspaper provided the letter to officers who said they wanted to speak with the woman because they needed clarification about information in it. If true, deputies reported the letter could be "very helpful" in solving the case.

On Friday afternoon, officers reported that the woman voluntarily came to the Sheriff's Office after learning detectives wanted to talk with her. She told officers she was delivering the letter for someone else, the Sheriff's Office reported in a statement.

"Detectives are continuing to follow up, hoping that the clarification will make the tip useful," the agency reported.

Investigators have not released the woman's identity or information about what was in the letter.

Just a guess on my part, but I think she is a home health worker, and brought the letter in for one of her clients who was unable to come in themselves. JMO

like say, someone who is in a wheel chair? hmmmmm...Chad E.  perhaps? did I read that he has a  wheel chair?  although people in wheelchairs are very mobile nowadays..if he has a vehicle that has special driving mechanisms....if he doesn't, then he may not have a way to get there? just guessing....no idea really...

We will be running our regular talk show on the Haleigh Cummings story on Sunday Sept/27 at 3pm central (4pm eastern). Once again we have a great deal to discuss. I do not know the exact make up of the panel however you can expect the regulars, Jan Barrett, TJ Hart, Denny Griffin, and William ‘Cobra’ Staubs.

With 48 hours to go before the show airs, I can only guess at what we will be talking about. I think it is fair to say that the Croslin’s are likely to be subject to some of that discussion though. Tommy Croslin managed to get his bond reduced from a bank busting $50k down to $5k. The question remaining is who bonded him out? And I will use this opportunity to quell an internet rumor, it was NOT one of our panelists.

As Tommy was getting out, mis mother Lisa Croslin was getting in. She managed to get a nationwide warrant issued for her arrest, the charges coming from some financial hanky panky with a neighbors checks. The Putnam County bond is $10k, which likely would not have created a big problem. However Lisa Croslin decided to do a bit of a midnight flit to Tennessee. The net result? She is sitting cooling her heels in jail, and the Tennessee bond is a headache inducing $100k! I’d also bet eggs is eggs that the only visitors she has received have been from the PCSO. Of course this cloud does have a silver lining, I am sure that the detention facility has a drug councilor.

We also have the Nay Nay letter. Now this one deserves a program all for itself. The PCSO, who I have a huge amount of respect for, have been tripping over their own feet for days now. It has no value says one. Yet everything in the letter seems to have become a hot ticket item. PCSO has created a bit of a PR problem, too many people telling conflicting stories. Just about the only PCSO person that has kept very quiet is the Peggy Cone, the last time I checked she was supposed to be the lead investigator. Has something changed?

WOW-I've heard from locals that he acts like a thug and they have told me he carries a piece and that basically he is a POS and that this has to do with drugs in some fashion (all their words, not mine), but for his enabling mom and GMA to be scared is new to me.

  When I read that comment about ppl. being scared of Ron, it brought back all of my absolute disgust of NG when she is the most snarkbeotch to Crystal. NG acts incensed and irate that Crystal doesn't know the exact schedule of the kids when they are at RC's. NG has no concept of the helplessness and fear that a woman who may not have the highest self esteem or life skills when pitted against a man who can be a bully and probably throws out a lot of threats................I'm feeling a NG vent coming on, so I'll close with I hope with all my heart Haleigh is found soon.

I feel the same way about NG and her obvious disdain for Crystal and her uber "I KNOW you " for the other side of the family, and I'm going to be straight with y'all......My son goes to aftercare and I don't know exactly what time he gets out, the bus riders leave at one time, and the rest at another, and honestly there is no need to know an exact time because he goes straight to aftercare at the school and if I were to need to pick him up early, I just go and get him.......no brainer to me, but I'm sure Mz Nancy knows to the minute every time the twins take a dump
