Would-Be Burglars Foiled By Billiard Balls

 
A Texas woman has a unique home defense system - hurling billiard balls at would-be robbers from the roof of her house.

Paula Ollie heard noises outside of her North Richland Hills home Wednesday afternoon and took action, reports CBS station KTVT. The 27-year-old mother collected several pool balls and placed them in her son's bicycle helmet.

"The pool balls just looked like the most aerodynamic, heaviest things I could get a hold of right then," she said.

Ollie went out through the back door and climbed a tree to get to her roof - all while clenching the bike helmet's strap in her teeth. Once on the roof, she unleashed her unconventional defense.

"I hollered out 'Death from above!' I'm not kidding. And no sooner than I said that, I started chucking pool balls at them."

Pumpkin Roll Cake

3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a large bowl with a elextric mixer beat  eggs on high for 5 minutes. Gradually beat in white sugar until thick and lemon-colored. Add pumpkin and lemon juice.  In another bowl mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg, fold into the pumpkin mixture.  Grease a 15x10x1 inch baking pan then  line with waxed paper or baking parchment  then  grease and flour the paper THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT CHEAT ON THIS STEP . Spread batter into pan spearding it out to the edges, sprinkle with walnuts.  Bake at 375 degrees F (for 15 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.  Immediately turn out onto a linen towel or pillow case dusted with confectioners' sugar. Peel off paper and roll cake up in the towel, starting with the short end. Cool in fridge.  While cake is cooling in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, 1 cup confectioners' sugar, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Carefully unroll the cake. Spread filling over cake to within 1 inch of edges. Roll up again. Cover and chill until serving. Dust with additional confectioners' sugar, if desired. Can be topped with coolwhip and chocolate shavings or more walnuts.

NR- I feel for you, I got really depressed after my gpa passed away and we moved gma in...nothing seemed to work. Luckily I work with "scarey carrie" my other monkey daughter so she helps keep me cheery (well maybe not cheery but alive..lol)

She said her mom posts her too. So now I get the connection.  Depression is a bad problem. I had a hard time after 9/11 and after my sister died last summer. It is not easy to deal with. I think depression and anxiety go hand in hand. It's a work in progress to stay on top of it and not slide back down.   

It is, it is very crippling. I really believe that once you have depression you are never the same. Sure, you get medicine and talk to therapists and stuff, but once you are saddled with it, it is always there ready to strike again, at least that is how I see it. You can have good days and a period of time where it isn't there, but it always seems to come back.

   My parents just showed up unannounced a little while ago.       
you should see my house.I am so crawling a in hole.Between me and hubby being sick you can imagine my living room.   

They had been up here to see my little nephew.Now I have the straight of what is goign on.
My nephew went to the doctor the first time and it was the regular flu(my mom had misunderstood).Now this time they tested him and he tested positive for swine flu.Geez.    Then they come over here.  ::MonkeyEek::We are all gonna be sick again.   
To make matters worse,Digger hates my Dad.    Dogs barking,hunting stuff sitting out and I didn't have lunch fixed.   
Luckily Dad is taking her out to eat.
She thinks NRCG needs more meds. 
Alright I'm going to Sinsuma.

Oh Trimm    Is the little one in the hospital, you might have said, but my mind is just blank, and how is your husband feeling, better I hope. I know what it's like for the dog not to like a relative, I've got the same thing with my son in law  I do need more, and different meds, I'm calling at two this afternoon, because the lady that makes appointments, wasn't there, and I'm waiting, because she knows us so well, she fits us in, so I'm hoping for luck there, otherwise it will be weeks to get in. I've just about had it with Sinsuma, it is the Anthonys all over again, and I just can't stand it anymore
