I'm in such a state this morning, I am almost afraid to peek in on Haleigh's thread.

And to think we have 3 more years to go - I have to believe there will be an increase in Valium etc type scripts over the next few years.

I can't even stand watching him.   Counting the days until he is gone.   GOP needs to get their act together and come up with a decent candidate so we won't be dealing with O for 7 more years.         Even though I consider myself to be very conservative, I think the GOP needs to get rid of some of their ultra conservative viewpoints and get real.    GOP will never get rid of abortion so they might as well give it up.   But, the GOP can make sure the taxpayers don't have to pay for them.   Issues like this...   the GOP needs to become a little bit more moderate to succeed in the next election, jmo.

I think it has gotten beyond a democrat or republican issue. We have gotten too far away on the republican side, and there were issues when they were in control too. I think we need someone come from outfield, maybe even libertarian or independent to lead us. All the politicians have chit on us. There is corruption throughout the government. I never thought I would be saying these words. I am very conservative, although when I was younger, I thought I was liberal. John Kennedy was the first President I voted for, however, later I vote for Barry Goldwater. Things started changing fast. I did vote the first time for Clinton Geeer! I guess I bought into the good ole southern boy thing. I am just disgusted with the way things have gone. I really didn't feel like McLain was goiing to do the things I wanted, but we may have been a lot safer. I don't think we had a good Republican choice this last time, but I sure didn't vote for O. I am just sick and tired of having no choices, no voice, and no one speaking for me. All we can do is support the few politicians who seem to be trying to do right. And pray alot. End of rant!

I know what you mean, Fanny.    But I'm afraid that if we had a third party actively seeking election 2012, it will split the GOP vote - and therefore we would end up with O again.   It is maddening, really.    I agree - we need to pray a lot and support the few politicians who are decent - but the GOP needs to get their act together if they hope to win against O in '12.

I'd like to throw them all out and start over but I don't think its possible, yet.    People won't change overnight and all the mula is in those two camps.      an angelic monkey      jmo

I know, it is all so frustrating.

Thank you for your prayers.  I believe prayers are very powerful and they mean so much to me.

I am going to go have a nap.  I feel really stressed today and out of sorts.  Weather is supposed to take a dive this weekend and I need to get my garden out but just don't have it in me.  I am also putting off curtain washing and feel guilty about it.

Zoe you will always be in my heart and soul

« Reply #591 on: September 24, 2009, 01:47:49 PM »

Please say a prayer for my Daddy and Step Mom. They found their Chihuahua Rocky dead in the hallway this morning. My dad is so upset. TIA JSM

Oh goodness that is terrible - I am so sorry for them - your heart and soul aches when you lose your pet - it is heartbreaking.  My thoughts and prayers are with them JSM>

It's so sad when something like that happens.  We both know that our pets are a big part of our lives.  A lot of people will disagree but in my personal experience, it's good to get another pet soon.  It won't replace Rocky but it will add something back to the family.

That's really sad.   Its especially hard on older people, when they lose their beloved pet.   When my parents' doxie died, they cried for days.   They still talk about her all the time.
Sassy I can't imagine going through that. I will be Baker Acted if something ever happens to Josef.
JSM, I try not to think about that, but at the same time I prepare myself. When I lost my dog Bodger it took me over seven years to get another dog, and that would be Zoe. I know without any doubt in my mind, I will never get another pet, maybe a parakeet, but I doubt that. I just couldn't.

Okay, I have now calmed down for a minute    When my dad said there was a dead morning dove on my driveway, I thought he meant in one piece. I spent a half hour cleaning feathers and dove carcass. Then I told him I will walk Zoe and when I come back I will finish. When we came back there was my dad with a big push broom out in the driveway, I said for Heaven's sake get back in the house, it looks like you are playing shuffleboard.  He won't listen, and sometimes when he bends he loses his balance and starts falling forward. He is stubborn, sit down and take your shoes off and on, he won't listen. So there he was in the kitchen taking his shoes off standing up, there went a coffee tree and all the mugs rolling around the kitchen, plus several pictures on the wall  Now he is sitting in the yard, I said please no more then ten minutes it is too hot. I live in a cross between the Twilight Zone and a sitcom.
I'm sorry No Rose, but the idea of him playing shuffleboard with a dead bird does sound sitcom like.  He's here for how long?
Six weeks, and he doesn't behave and listen. I understand when you have been active your whole life and then have such arthritis where it is hard to move how frustrating. We were laughing this morning, my dad and I, that he walks like Tim Conway on Carol Burnett Show, the one where he shuffled real, real slow.

JSM,that is so sad about the fur baby.    an angelic monkey Will say a prayer.
Thank you Trimm. He was a sweet little guy. When my dad had his heart attack and couldn't work, Rocky would sit in his lap all day and eat bits of my dad's muffins.

JSM - So Sorry about the fur baby.  I will pray for comfort and strength for your family.

Fanny - I was just watching a news segment of fall clothes and they specifically mentioned that shoulder pads ( not for heavy days, more for light days) are back. They even had them in leather jackets.  If you feel comfy wearing them then wear them.  If they bother you, rip them out.

No Rose - Get your Dad a big bag of nuts ( walnuts, peanuts anything that is in the shell) .  Hand him the garage door opener and tell him you need 4 cups of shells nuts as the rubber at the bottom of the door does not bruise the flesh so could he please use the garage door to do it.  I bet that will keep him out of your hair for a while, and he can do it sitting down.

Hubby is in for all day procedure.  I was up early this morning to make sure he got there.  I would appreciate prayers for this to go well and to guide the Dr's today.
Northern Rose, excellent idea! A lot of times, our parents just want to feel useful and independent, no matter the physical cost to them. Just don't let him drive.

Also, Rose, I said a prayer for you hubby and his doctors.

Seeking Justice for Caylee

« Reply #597 on: September 24, 2009, 01:58:05 PM »

I am a little behind here as I have been in the Haleigh thread and I feel just terrible.  I posted a comment over there that created quite a stir.  I never meant for it to do so but in case it did offend anyone here I must tell you I am deeply sorry - it was never my intent to hurt someone it was more an off the cuff remark about Misty.  I think I best read only over in that thread.  Yikes

I agree, the whole world is upside down, and I personally think we are all screwed, I've given up and just hope for the best. I am too frustrated listening to all this. But, is Chavez going to speak, that should be interesting. My dad was curious, he has been listening all morning.
