.: Judge rules -- Rifqa will complete Florida Virtual schooling until the end of the grading period.   DCF will directly turn over custody of the child to Franklin County Children Services.

 

I had fallen asleep and woke up and saw this  I'm not grasping this, she will be turned over to Franklin County, like in foster care, or back to her family? 

  No Rose, after I posted this, it seems that the Judge in Florida is letting her finish school until November in Florida, but the family hasn't given the court Rifqa's full passport/visa and until her immigration status is turned over to the court she is to remain in Florida. At least that is what I read. The court doesn't want her to go back to Ohio and her parents send her back to Sri Lanka/Bangladesh or whatever rat hole country they came from. Plus from a commenter on Atlas, if she had a good lawyer, she could ask for asylum on religious persecution and that would be a federal case which would be tied up in court for years and by that time, she would be an adult. Not sure if this is all true because my computer is slower than crud right now.

One more thing that cracks me up, she calls the family's lawyer Shayan "Shaytan" Elahi      Just an FYI, the word Shaytan in Arabic is SATAN  Just in case you read it and think that is the dude's nickname.

I made a kind of Turkey shepherds pie.  Finely chopped leftover turkey and veggies, warmed with some sauteed onions, garlic and turkey stock I made yesterday and thyme and parsley.  Put that in casserole dish, next layer leftover stuffing, then left over mashed potatoes, then some white and yellow cheddar and in the oven.  It was  Nummy!

Hubby had surgery today so I wanted something that would be soft on his throat and stomach as he has not eaten since Sunday prepping for surgery.  His Biopsy came out BENIGN!!!!!!  Just waiting on results of the second biopsy they took today.

Hi Northern ~ I haven't had a chance to buy a breadmaker or anything yet.  Same weekend I was going to do that, both my grown sons - who live in two different towns around me - got sick on the same day.  Nothing serious, just sinus/change of season allergy type stuff, but I swear they're worse than babies when sick.  I had to run the roads for several days taking them this & that. 

Then school stuff & had to run the roads on that for my granddaughter.

Now I'm too tired to think of breadmaking but I'll get back in the mood.  I had forgotten, but my husband reminded me I made bread by hand a few times when we were first married - that was a loooong time ago.  Must not have been very good if I forgot it !

I used to make bread without a bread maker a long time ago as well.  My shoulders could not take the kneeding anymore.  Tell him a breadmaker will make a happy wife, and if the wife is happy then the house is happy!

I just got a call from the neighbour and Norbert, the pig he has been raising for us is going to the butcher tomorrow.  I will have a freezer full of Norbert soon.

Northern -  I wanted to tell you that I got your pumpkin roll and pumpkin cake recipes!    My daughter loves pumpkin rolls, but I've never made it before.  We usually go to the bakery and buy it.   Thanks for sharing.
If you have any other pumpkin recipes you want to share, that would be sweet!

  doing a drive by of sorts to give my MUAH's for the day    Im soon to chill & watch the Hell's Kitchen finale....I sometimes wish Gordon Ramsey had a different walk in life and was a judge so he could tell some of these sleazy spin doctor defense attorneys to PISS OFF....and that is my thought of the day!

NORTHERN ROSE, I am so happy to hear about your hubby. I fixed dinner tonight, and after we ate, I fell asleep in my recliner, something I seldom do. I guess I must have gotten up too early this morning.

TRIMM, I knew you would be pizzed about TINK. I will complain too.
