We used to eat baloney on white bread with mustard.  Sometimes we used to make sugar sandwiches.  For a real treat, sometimes my mom would fry the baloney in a cast iron skillet.  I remember the baloney would look like a big bubble in the frying pan until she cut it.

We used to call baloney "Oakdale round steak" for a particular blue collar section of town. We ate a ton of it. We had sugar sandwiches with a little butter on one side to hold the sugar. My all time favorites was mayonnaise sandwiches.

Bud's Girl - I left the recipe for you that you had asked about in Musings quite a while ago.  Did you get it?

Northern -  I wanted to tell you that I got your pumpkin roll and pumpkin cake recipes!    My daughter loves pumpkin rolls, but I've never made it before.  We usually go to the bakery and buy it.   Thanks for sharing.
If you have any other pumpkin recipes you want to share, that would be sweet!   

I have used that recipe for years.  Just do not cheat on greasing and flouring the paper or it will not come off without breaking when you roll it in yoru cloth.

Here is another recipe that my family really likes

Pumpkin Gingerbread

3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2/3 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder

Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. 
In a large bowl mix sugar, oil and eggs and beat until smooth. Add water and beat until well blended. Stir in pumpkin, ginger, allspice and cinnamon.
In medium bowl, mix flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. Add dry ingredients to pumpkin mixture and blend just until all ingredients are mixed (do not over beat) Divide batter between prepared pans.

Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour

I love gingerbread, too - so I'm sure I'll love this recipe.    Thanks!
